Intuition And Creativity

Intuitive thinking occupies an important position in the creative thinking, which is a general consensus. With regard to the creation of the role of intuition and the cultivation of intuitive thinking abilities, domestic and foreign scholars have conducted a lot of studies and have achieved considerable theoretical results. However, in view of the conditions in the current study, what is the inherent relationship between intuition and creativity in the world, what is the most basic creative features that intuition have, and what is the physiological and psychological mechanisms for intuition, as well as what kind of relationship intuition has related to imagination, and, what kind of association exists between intuition and logic, and what kind of role they play in creative thinking and so forth, so this series of problems still need to be systematically explored and revealed. This article is to study these issues, trying to reveal the deep relationship between intuition and creativity. The study on the characteristics of intuition has achieved great academic results, which has been agreed that intuition is endowed with the following features:Epiphany, insight, direct, skip, and integrity, creativity, subconscious, and ambiguity, emotional, vivid and real-time image of , to be certified and so on. These are all from different angles to illustrate the characteristics of intuition and objectively display the nature of intuition. However, fundamentally speaking, the characteristics of intuition can be summarized from both inside and outside aspects as one essential nature character and three basic characteristics. The essential characteristics of Intuition refer to the condition that intuition is embodied with a direct dynamic thinking creativity. This includes intuitive thinking, and direct creative and dynamic nature of the triple. As regards to the three basic creative characteristics of intuition, I think the first is the overall construction of intuition and the Transcendence, which is short named as intuitive understanding. It refers to that when the intuition is about to understand and grasp things, instead of a passive simple copying, but performed as the constructivism and integrity, and go beyond boundaries of time and space of the original things to carry out construction of things and understanding. The second is the primitive choice and comparison of intuition, which is short named as intuitive insight. Acutely intuition can sensitively observe and grasp the similarities and differences and thus be able to demonstrate creativity, and its physiological basis is that a natural selectivity plays a role in to it. Third, intuition is able to grasp the essence of the structure of things in the form of Gestalt, which is short named as intuitive abstract; the nature of things is a form of structure, and grasp of it by intuition is based on Gestalt psychology to be approached. Logical analysis is unable to grasp the form of the structure of things, only through the abstract role of intuition to complete it. These three basic characteristics of intuition are the most representative, and they are all independent but also relevant so as to become an organic whole of intuitive functionality. Besides, they can accommodate and explain the characteristics of other, and they can fully demonstrate the creative function of intuition. In this paper, the author based on the fact of the psychological perception, the empirical material of brain science and the related theory of philosophy, clarifies the nature of intuitive features and the basic creative characteristics.Imagination is the fundamental psychological function of intuition on a higher level, that is, intuition of laws and the nature. As a result of natural evolution, one has a relatively complete and sound imagination ability, which, as the most fundamental psychological function, plays an invaluable role in the survival and development of human beings. On the imagination, people have distinguished a lot of types. In fact, these imaginative functions are the performance of the same imagination function. Imagination, as a direct psychological function of intuition, plays a role to intuition at three levels. First is the role of the imagination on the unconscious level, which is the creative activities of imagination, but the main body is unconscious of this, and what Kant referred to as a priori imagination is such a feature of the imagination. Second is the imagination of the experience level, and the subject is aware of this and he can consciously use it. Such kind of imagination plays a significant role in scientific creation. They are performed mainly in three areas: renewable imagination set the provisions of the image intuition; associated imagination has the set intuitive image related with each other; the creative imagination or the free imagination is able to create a new image and symbols. Especially Creative imagination, through the free change of imagination, is able to intuitively grasp the general nature of things. The third is the imagination on a rational level, which is the imagination on a higher level of creation, and the use of this imagination by the subject is not only conscious but also spontaneous. Conscious use of such imagination can only can be achieved and realized in the great philosophers and artists. For ordinary people in general, mainly the first and second level imagination plays a role.In the thinking of creation, intuition and logic are in the relations of infiltration and complementary. In order to explain the link intuition and creativity, it is necessary to explain this kind of relationship of unity and opposites between intuition and logic. There is the existence of three different points of view on the relationship between Intuition and logic. First, the fragmented view, which thinks that there is the confrontation between intuition and logic, that is to say, logic is rational and instinct is irrational. The second is the compressed view that thinks intuition is a logical compression. The third is the complementary view, which said that the two are complement to each other, are mutually based. The third point of view is more reasonable, but the complementary nature according to its understanding means the external complementary, not to achieve the consistency and the intrinsic permeability of intuition and logic. In this paper, on the basis of accepting complementary view, the author gives the description of inherent unity of intuition and logic from the several areas. First, in the original thinking, intuition and logic are reunified; second is to support the unity of intuition and logic based on the experiment facts of brain science; Third is the proof of such logic methods as comparison and classification, abstract and summary, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, and they are not simple logic but the unity of logic of the intuitive content and logic form. Fourth, from the initiative of the dialectic of the self-consciousness of the subject, put forward with the dialectic of division and unity of the logic and intuition, and thus push the performance of the dialectical unit y of the primary process and secondary process of creative thinking and. Fifth, through the typical analysis theory of the creative thinking, shows the logical consistency and complementarities in the process of the creation of intuitive thinking.The creative process as a creative activity of the unity of intuition and logic displays the three basic levels. First is the creative process of spontaneous infiltration of the intuition and logic, including the unconscious spontaneous creation of sensitivity and self-conscious spontaneous creation of the empirical. Creative activities of this phase are mainly reflected the characteristics for the intuition, and logic, as a link, has been abandonedly included in the intuitive, which is difficult to show, thus creating usually takes on as a sudden and epiphany. Concrete manifestation of Creative activity on this level is the unconscious and conscious creation of the level experience of the daily life, but also includes unconscious creative activities shown by some scientists and artists from unexpected inspiration. Second is scientific creation of confrontation the Infiltration between intuition and logic. What we ordinary people understand the creative thinking is generally referred to this level. At this level of creation, intuition as a link has been abandonedly included in the logic, which is difficult to show, but apparent in the form of logic. Third is the rational creation of intuition and logic to a high degree of integration (thinking of the creation or the creation of metaphysics). This creation is only to be achieved at the level of great philosophers, artists and religion when the level of understanding with its own creative activity carried out. At this time, intuition and logic has attained a high degree of integration, philosophers and artists both consciously and spontaneously grasp and apply it.As a result of the creation of the second level is of great scientific significance and practical value in general, so this article focuses on the creative level. by the process of science Creation, this article describes and discusses the essence and the process of the observation and experiment, the specific method and essence of the formation of the scientific concept, as well as the specific model and the substance of the establishment of scientific laws, in particular, focused on the typical model of scientific discovery, such as experimental inductive models, deductive mode of theory, intuitive guess mode, analogical reasoning model, analysis of the integrated model, and the restructuring mode. These models show the infiltration of the unity of intuition and logic, but mainly based on logical thinking and intuitive thinking as a supplement. However, when the logic has been hampered, intuition plays its nature of functions, breaking the limitations of logic, and will suddenly have a new creative result.
