The body is an important social stimulation and a special communication tool in interpersonal interaction.The body expression is the emotion adjustment tool of having the reliability value.To the individual,the own body is having the special and significant meaning. The physical self is the most important component of self-consciousness, and has the great impact on mental health and sports participation.In recent years,the neuron physiology basis confers to the body self-cognition has become the leading topic of the researcher increasingly.This study adopts ERPs techniques and selects the whole body pictures and the adjectives of describing the body as the study material.Subjects are college student.This study discusses the specialty and stage of physical self information processing.The main findings are as follows:1.Related to other body processing,the physical self information processing has the special time courses as follows:(1) In the specified time window of showing 600-700ms after the stimulation,the physical self processing in frontal area and central area,especially in the right frontal area,can evoke stronger ERPs activity.This effect is irrelevant to self information style(neither the self-body reference processing nor the self-body recognition processing) and cognition tasks(neither the self-other recognition or the direction judgment).This result reflects the common ERPs neuron movement styles of physical self.(2) The physical self information processing time courses and the scalp position allocation is different in those two categories.Compared with other body recognition,the specific time courses of the self-body recognition(start from 160ms) is earlier than the self-body reference processing of the adjectives of describing the body(600ms).Moreover, the ERPs activity evoked by the self-body reference processing in frontal area is stronger than that evoked by other body reference processing. However,besides the self body recognition in frontal area,the ERPs activities evoked in the left temporal-occipital area,parietal area and central area are stronger than that is caused by others body recognition. 2.The physical self information processing is a continuouse course from the perception analysis to the structure code to judement and recognition of body identification.This process can be divided into two different stages.The ealier stage of physical self information processing evokes N170 and VPP refecting structure code.Compare with other-body reference processing,the self-body reference processing after 600ms evokes stronger ERPs elements.In addition,the emotional self-body expression only impacts the late elements of the self-body cognition processing.That has indicated that the processing of the self-body cognition has the stages,at laeast in the ealy structure code and late semantics and expression processing etc.Those two stages are relative with different brain area:the perception processing stage is relative with the the left temporal-occipital area and the semantics stage is relative with the frontal area,central area and parietal area.3.The physical self information processing has not only the specific brain function area,but also the unique cognition processing course. This finding is providing the neuro physiology proof for the phycology concept of physical self.
