A Study On The Similarity Category In Mandarin Chinese

This paper is a research about the similarity category in Mandarin,relying on the Semantic Grammar and the Cognitive Grammar,in principle of connection of sematics and forms.Firstly,gives review and remark on study relating similarity category. Secondly,constructs Chinese similarity on the base of similarity category of semantics and forms.Finally,takes a probe of similar structure "xiang-shide",the modal relator "haoxiang"and "ye"sentences.The innovation of this dissertation lies in the following four aspects:First,constructs the similarity category in Mandarin Chinese,defines these conceptions,such as similar point,similar nature,similar relation,similar degree,simiar subject,similar object,similar item, similar relator.Second,investgates and explains the asymmetry between subject and object,raises isolated relator and frame relator,inquires factors restricting deletion of relators.Third,discusses the different syntactic ways which expresse similar degree,sums up conditions on the syntactic manifestations which show similar degree.Fourth,analyses some main similar patterns.Probes into combinational laws of some relators,puts forward to similar degree supporting the differences between comparison and anology,demonstrates modality of relator "haoxiang",gives explanations about connections and differences between repeated usage and isolated usage of relator "ye".A study on the similarty category enriches the Chinese semantic and grammatical category system and contributes to linguistic teaching in some degree.
