This dissertation mainly investigates the Pranidhi scenes painted in the cave temples at Bezeklik in the district of Turfan of Chinese Turkestan. Respecting the fact that the Pranidhi scenes have been found almost exclusively and been developed sufficiently at Bezeklik, the scene can be evaluated as the motif possessing a distinctive and the representative character of Karakhoja Uighur's Buddhist wall paintings. This dissertation chiefly uses archaeological classification methods, and also applies the iconographic method of Art history. In so doing, we divide the themes of the Pranidhi scenes into several types based on the shape of caves. This dissertation discusses the composition of the motifs of the Pranidhi scene, the change in configuration of the motifs, and the features of the other motifs that are arranged with the Pranidhi scenes.
