The Four sects of Buddhism in their commentary and subcommentary of《Heart Sutra》show a common character in that they limit the thought of the《Heart Sutra》in their own theory system and try to explain the thought of the《Heart Sutra》in the light of their own doctrine of Buddhism.Kuiji of the Cittamantra commen is the Prajna's Emptiness by the theory of Trilakshana and the Three Kinds of Unreality. Fazang of the Hua-yen sect, by the thought of all things that arise from the Dhama realm and the perfect blend of all things, expound and proven that the Form and Formless are the same in their nature. Huizhong of the Chan sect hold the Chan's doctrine about the Own-Mind, and recognizes that the unreal and real nature of all things come from the change betweem the Birth and Death in Own-Mind. Although limiting in the expanation of the terms, Mingkuang of Tiantai sect has his own distinctive commentary on the doctrine of the Tri-Satya founded by Tiantai sect. These show that Four sects all try to express their own theory through their commentary on the《Heart Sutra》.Although the viewpoints of the Four sects are diffrerent, they all recognize the basic doctrine of Mahayana. The core Prajna thought of Mahayana is "Conditioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature" that《Heart Sutra》has founded its doctrine of the "Emptiness". The Four secs in principle recognize the theory of "Conditioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature". Moreover, the Three kinds of Unreality from the Citlamntra is not the same as the thought of Prajna's Svabhavata, but the viewpoints from the doctrine of the dependent phenomena without its own birth-nature is almost the same as the thought of "conditioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature".In the thoery of the Universal Cause from the Hua-Yen sect, all thing's born and dead depend Pratitya-Samutpada. This viewpoint basically reflects the thought of the "Conditioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature". Even thought, the Chan Sect in principle does not deny the viewpoint of the "Condioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature", it explains the Form and Formless by its own doctrine from the Utpadanirodha of the Own Mind that is not related to the "Condioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature". Mingkuang of Tiantai holds its doctrine of Tri Satya of the Emptness, the Unreality, and the Middle that is derived from the thought of "Conditioned Co-arising and Empty of All Nature. The four sects of Buddha recognized that the Dharani o《fHeart Sutra》summarize the magic function of《heart Sutra》, and《heart Sutra》has its own function that is the same as Dharani's, so that the function of《heart Sutra》itself does not differ from the function of Dharani and that it should not be recognized as Dharani Sutra.
