This paper includes introduction, the main body which will analyze Horqin local novels from the following aspects:creation of Mongolian farmer's image, discursive features, farming economy customs, tragic aesthetic tendency, mode of narration and the conclusion.Introduction states the motivation of selecting this topic, literature review, research methods, findings, significance and explanation of basic definition.Firstly, the author as a native one is more familiar to local culture. The author has accessed to fundamental knowledge about Horqin local novels when she is trying to obtain bachelor's degree. The author's postgraduate's paper " An Analysis on the Novel of Xinjiang Novelist Daonaidai" which was instructed by the tutor is an study on Xinjiang local novels. By comparing with this two minority local novels, the author found a clearly outline that Horqin local novel possesses special cultural connotation and unique features. Therefore, based on previous study and profound reading during four year's study, the author selects this subject as the paper applying for Doctor's degree.Secondly, since the beginning of 1980s, Mongolian studies began to pay much attention to the study of "local novels" with the influence of Chinese literature. It was in 1981 that Mongolian scholar Ce.Jirigala who put forward "local literature" in his article "Novel on the Young Writer Badba" for the first time. This enhances the development of Horqin local novels theoretically and practically.Many scholars have contributed to this topic. Eerdunqimuge studies it from types of farmer's image, image creation and theme embodied. While Deligeer, Mulishen, Suyouge, Ha.Wulanbatu analyze Horqin local novels in terms of discourse structure, cultural thinking pattern, language system, linguistic custom and discourse mode. Tegusichaogetu, Namiya, Baigang together with some other scholars examine Horqin local novel from the point of view of folklore. Hasichulu, however, studies it from aesthetic trend, worrying consciousness, tragic psychology, tragedy roots. Ao.aketai digs out the Horqin local novel in terms of diversity aesthetics, local features, blending of spoken and writing arts, hurenwulige artistic inheritance, influence of traditional serial novel and Hurenwulige on the writing of Mongolian ones.Danbipujile has a deep analysis about it from following points of view:language, expressing mode and character personalities; folk culture transmission; traditional cultural thinking mode and modern consciousness; folk custom, theatricality creation; living customs, ethnic psychological culture, criticism; the relationship between cultural environment and writing.Baoyintaoketao explores Horqin local novels from prototype criticism, local consciousness, the theme, character image, language; traditional folk literature, signs of Chinese cultures. Ba.Suhe studies it from Horqin traditional novels, development, novels writer groups and innovation of novels in his book "outline of Horqin literature" Suyouge introduces Horqin contemporary writers'group and its masterpieces and artistic achievements in his book "Mongolian modern literature". Ba Suhe, Baoyintaoketao discuss Horqin novelists'artistic achievements and stylist in their book "Contemporary Literature Horqin". Scholars'macro-scientific consciousness can be inferred from above literature reviews.On the whole, previous studies on Horqin local novels are productive which lay the foundation for our studies. Meanwhile, the previous studies also present a new exploring space. Therefore, to break through single-faceted study and explore a interdisciplinary and systematic angle is our urgent need.III. Research MethodologiesThis paper mainly adopts literary culture and literary linguistics research methods together with hermeneutics, comparing study and so on to explore Horqin local novels in a interdisciplinary and multi-angle point of view in order to find out its cultural connotation and unique features.IV. New creations in this studyThis paper is different form previous ones in following aspects:Based on previous studies, this paper focuses on novels and tries to explore cultural connotation and unique features of Horqin local novels.To explain the certainty of Mongolian farmers appeared in the novel and to discuss the authentic nature of Mongolian farmers from cultural character and cultural thinking pattern. To analyze the discursive system and reveal hidden linguistic rhythm as well as cultural thinking pattern.To study Horqin local novels from economical folklore point of view and try to find out character's psychological tendency and symbolic cultural thinking patterns in terms of economical folklore.To explain the root of tragic aesthetic tendency in Horqin local novels from psychology of the creation and cultural psychology and explore the subjective root of tragic aesthetic tendency embodied in the novels.Based on the close relationship between narrative mode and culture, this paper intends to reveal interrelationship between folk songs and narrative mode of Horqin local novels. Meanwhile, it also tries to find out the influence of traditional Chinese chapter novel on Horqin local novels and explains its connotations in terms of narratology.In this study, literary culturology, literary linguistics and multiple theories are adopted in order to analyze Horqin local novels within this cultural framework and its connotations.V. SignificanceTo investigate cultural connotations on novels have great significance on developing fields, of Mongolian literature including exploring its nationality, vigorousness and anthropological meaning. Meanwhile it accelerates compelling Horqin local novels, study of Horqin local cultures and editing higher educational textbooks. VI. Definition of some termsTo define some terms used in this paper such as Horqin, local culture, literary culturology, literary linguistics and so on.Chapter one consists of four parts. This chapter discusses Horqin Mongolian unique cultural features and its anthropological meaning under the combination of local culture and cultivating culture. Mongolian farmer's image is due to its special historical background as the combination of half agriculture and animal husbandry. Therefore this Mongolian farmer image cultural meaning. Laziness is a common thing which produces old-fashioned farmer's image. According to the changing local cultural environment and economical and populous exchanging, the new image, the cautious farmer image is produced.Chapter two includes three parts. Part one is about the influence of Wuligeer's chain language on Horqin local novels and its accordingly style and authentic effects. Part two discuses the function juxtaposition and non-consistency short sentence and its special stylistics. Part three tries to discuss Horqin local novels'cultural thinking pattern transforming, multi-cultural thinking pattern and connotations in terms of Saman culture, husbandry thinking pattern, Bi-xing thinking pattern, agricultural thinking pattern and proverbs.Chapter three is made up of four parts. In this part, a variety of Mongolian traditional customs are discussed in order to create character image, reveal inner heart of characters and rendering cultural atmosphere.Chapter four includes two parts. It intends to discuss the sources of tragic aesthetic tendency subjectively and objectively in terms of social and cultural factors.Chapter five narrative mode of Horqin local novels insists of folk songs'narrative mode in Horqin local novels and chapter novels in Horqin local novels and narrative mode of Hurenwulige's narrative mode intend to reveal connotations of novels.Conclusions:local culture and local consciousness is the roots to local novels. Horiqn local novels present its unique feature in terms of profound connotations.Farmer images in Mongolian literature is a new thing and in its primary developing stage. It begins in 1950-60s and remains stagnate between 70-80s. during 1980s to late 90s it has some achievements. While since 21st century it is also neglected or stagnated.Hurenwuligeer chain language mode has a great influence on Horqin local novels. Local novels language speed and rhythm has a close relationship with their lifestyle and thinking pattern. With speeding up of agricultural development it leads to the change of their thinking pattern which accordingly gives prominence to the local characteristics. Discourse analysis is a new topic in Mongolian literature. This paper focuses on the common characteristics. It is a common thing in the novel that personal linguistic characteristic is neglected.Folklore is the basis for local novel writing. Economical folklore culture can embody connotations. It plays an important role in creating images and rendering culture in Horqin local novels. Though the study about it has achieved some findings but it is far away from satisfactions in terms of simplification or missing.Tragic aesthetic tendency has become unique feature of Horqin local novels because of local cultural transmission, marginalized culture and embarrassment of existing. Horqin tragic aesthetic tendency is produced on the basis of the conflict among political campaign, social corruption, feudal morality and husbandry altogether with subjectively deficiency in characters, cultural psychology and so on.It is practicable for discussing connotations of novels in terms of narrative mode vice versa. Horqin ethic culture takes deeply root in its people and influence their thinking patterns and thus produces narrative mode with its form of expression.Connotation study on Horqin local novels has great practical and academic significance on exploring Mongolian ethnic nature, anthropological meaning and literary study.
