The Study On Comparative Advantage Of Agriculture Products Of Liaoning Province

The competition of economy is the competition of industry or the products in nature. The China's entry into WTO will accelerate the process of the Chinese merchandise, including the agricultural products, into the international market. Under the direction of the theories of competition advantage and comparative advantage, this article employs the Aggregated Advantage Indices, unit cost coefficient and Domestic Resource Costs Coefficient to analysis and evaluate the comparative advantage of some kinds of agriculture products of Liaoning province in the liaoning market, and in the domestic market of China and abroad.The research indicates that under the analysis of the Aggregated Advantage Indices, the following products have comparative advantage in the fourteen cities of Liaoning province : the cereal crops of rice of Panjin, YingkouandDandong , wheat of Chaoyang, Jinzhou, Huludao, maize of Benxi, Tieling and Anshan , durra of Jinzhou, Fuxin and Huludao, millet of Chaoyang, Fuxin and Huludao, tuber crops of Huluda, Dalian and Chaoyang, soybean of Fushun, Benxi and Huludao, coarse cereals of Fuxin, Chaoyang and Dalian > and so on; the economic farming products , such as cotton of Tieling , earthnut of Jinzhou, sesame and helianthus of Chaoyang, hemp product of Anshan, sugar beet and vegetables of Shenyang, tobacco leaf of Tieling, and so forth ; some livestock products , such as pork of Jinzhou, beef of Tieling, mutton of Chaoyang, milk of Shenyang and Dalian, poultry egg of Jinzhou, honey of Shenyang and the like . Considering the Liaoning province as a whole, the production of Liaoning' cereal crops has certain comparative advantage in the relative production scale and integrative advantage compared with the average level of the country , but doesn't possess the advantage in the relative production efficiency. The economic farming products have inapparent advantage in general though the earthnut and sugar beet have some. As for the breed aquatics products, there is no advantage in meat, milk and fresh water aquaculture products though the production of the sea aquaculture and poultry eggs has certain.Analyzed by the unit cost coefficient of product, the following products have comparative advantage and their per unit costs are lower than the average level of the whole province: maize of Fushun, Benxi and Dalian, rice of Dandong, 'Fushun, Dalian, Fuxin, Benxin and Tieling, soybean of Benxi and Shenyang, durra of Huludao and Tieling, wheat of Jinzhou, and this kind of cereal crops ; apple of Dalian, earthnut of Jinzhou, Huluda and Fuxin, grilled tobacco of Chaoyang, Fuxin and Tieling, sugar beet of Anshan and Tieling, cotton of Huluda and Liaoyang, and this kind of economic farming products; live pig raised separately by farmers of Dandong, Huludao, Fuxin, Anshan, Liaoyang, and Panjin, flesh water fish fed elaborately by farmers of Shenyang . The five vegetables of Liaoning province, the canopied tomato, cucumber, Chinese cabbage, aubergine and sweet pimiento, have relatively strong competition compared with these vegetables of Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Shijiazhuang, Ha' erbin, Changchun and this kind big cities, and at the same time, Shenyang's are in the middle level.. Considering Liaoning as a whole, compared with average level of the country, the unit cost of the following products' is lower, then these products obtaincomparative advantage : rice, soybean, wheat and this kind cereal crops ; apple, earthnut, grilled tobacco , sugar beet and this kind economic farming products , bred products such as separately raised live pig .While the unit cost of maize in Liaoning is on the same level with the country.Aggregated Advantage Indices and unit cost coefficient are both analyzing and evaluating methods aiming at the real competition ability of agricultural products .On the base of these, this article applies Domestic Resource Costs Coefficient (DRCC) to analyze and study the potential capacity of competition of major plant industry products in Liaoning .The result shows that the apple of Liaoning has remar...
