Studies On Deng Xiaoping Development Theory And Scientific Development Outlook

Development theory becomes a hot spot of general interest worldwide in the late half of 20^th century. It is also a focal point of theoretical study in China from 1980's. Ever since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, we have gained wonderful achievements which attract world attention, but at the same time, we are also facing many developing problems. The developing problem in contemporary China is not only a deep and broad theoretical problem but an all-round practical one. To expand practice needs taking a developing theory as its guide and to construct and use a developing theory requires a thorough study of it.At the closing ceremony of a symposium on establishing and implementing scientific development outlook, Premier Wen Jiabao said to the major leaders at the provincial and ministerial level, "Scientific develop outlook comes down in one continuous line as Comrade Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, and Jiang Zemin's thoughts on development. It is a development concept of Marxism which advances with the times." At the 4th representative assembly of constructing CCP, General Secretary Hu Jintao made further emphasis that we "should make deep study on the inner link and integration among scientific development outlook, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Thought of Three Represents." Therefore, I take Deng Xiaoping development theory as my point in this dissertation to analyze the new development outlook in contemporary China. My purpose lies in proving not only what is the new developing outlook in contemporary China but its source in the process of emerging, forming and developing. Furthermore, I want to explain how they pass on and develop between Deng Xiaoping development theory and scientific development outlook, how their dialectical unity influences the developing contemporary China and their theoretical status, working mechanism, practical mode meeting the needs of the society in developing process. It indicates that it is unique when it is building a relatively comfortable and harmonious society in an all-round way in contemporary China. It is not only different from European and American developed countries, new eastern Asian industrial countries but different from traditional socialist mode. The developing path is a scientific one which takes on people-orientation, brings about a overall, coordinated and sustainable developing, makes progress of the society and its people thoroughly. There are six parts in the paper:The first part states that Deng Xiaoping development theory is the solid theoretical basis of scientific development outlook. Deng Xiaoping made correct judgments on the topic of development and traits of the times in the process of leading Chinese people to construct socialism with Chinese characteristics. He also scientifically summarized the pros and cons of socialist construction in the world with insight and foresight of a statesman and strategist. He stood at the forefront of the times, taking China as his standpoint and opening his eyes to the whole world, advanced a series of important thoughts of social developing.
