Nonprofit organizations,profit organizations and governments have been forming tripartite confrontations. Although the NPOs provides qua-public products for our society, it has some flaws such as: lacking for unambiguous bottom-line for profit,restricted by non-distributive profits for themselves, don't know the products and services by clients, be short of volunteerism, and so on. So the NPOs lacks for the scientific and explicit performance evaluation indices which the enterprises own. Especially in today's China, with the perfection of the market mechanism and the changing of governments'functions, NPOs have been developing rather swiftly than before. But as NPOs have short history of its obtaining legitimacy. Both span and deepness of NPOs management researches are not at the same beginning point as enterprises and governments. And NPOs'performance evolutions also face the same situation. Because of these situations which mentioned above, I choose this title for my PHD thesis in order to research deeply on NPOs'performance evaluation.In the thesis , firstly the author analyzed some concepts about NPOs performance evaluations. For example, what is performance? What is performance management? What is performance evaluation? What are the performance, performance evaluation and performance management for NPOs? Then I explained these clear in my opinion.In chapter two, I analyzed a large amount of papers on NPOs'researching history and researched the actual status of performance evaluation both domestically and abroad. But I found that researching productions abroad did not completely suitable for China'NPOs. Researches on NPOs in China have been getting behind in all of diminutions. What is the theoretical basis of NPOs performance evaluations? The chapter three gave an answer to this problem. I moved post property-right argument (or beyond property-right argument), principal-agent theory, resource-dependence theory, neo-institutional politics and tolerance zone theory from the economics, management and politics to NPOs'performance evaluation.
