The causes can be divided into the external causes and internal causes, hereinto, seeing about the significant influence of social revolution from external causes and the main acts of universities and students from internal causes. Fourthly, the article discusses the solving means of disputes, anlysizes the waysof judicial means and non-judicial means, compares the advantages and disadvantages of different means, and puts forward the suggestions of the best means to solve disputes.At last, the article discusses the solution and prevention of the disputes between the universities and college students. The solution of the disputes requires the concerted efforts of government, universities and studentsThe primary conclusion of this article suggests that the frequent disputes occurring between the universities and college students are closely linked to the school's failure to keep up with the times. The universities'inability to reform prevents them from building a truly harmonious campus. This makes its more difficult for the universities to effectively play the functions of higher education.Nomocracy, as one of the contemporary themese is also central to the management of modern universities. Managing universities based on law should be one the major directions of the modern university's reformation.At the same time, we should recognize that, although the legal path is the most authoritive channel, it should not be the first-choice for the solution of the disputes between the universities and college students. The relationship between the university and its students should be different from other purely rational interested relationships between social subjects. There should be a recognition that more humane care is needed in the educational environment. Therefore, researching and discussing the non- judicial channels of solution of the disputes is worth our attention.
