Strengthening Party member's ideals and conviction building is the fine tradition and political superiority of the Communist Party of China (CPC) .In the new period, the reform and opening up led by the Party have injected tremendous vigor into the Party member's ideals and conviction building, but they have also exposed it to many unprecedented tasks and tests. Developments and changes in the global, national and intra-Party conditions make it both vital and urgent for us to strengthen Party member's ideals and conviction building in a spirit of reform and innovation. Having summarized the experiences and lessons, this thesis follow the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of Three Represents,study and apply the Scientific Outlook on Development,give a system exposition and answers to the ideological puzzle and realistic problems of new period ideals and conviction building in theory, inquire and put forward specific measure and ways in practice.The thesis is composed of five chapters.Chapter one: theory analysis of the Party members ideals and conviction building. Firstly, it explains the faith, ideal, conviction and their each other's relationship, explains Party member's ideals and conviction in the new period and its building aims, especially points out the distinction between ideals and conviction building and ideals and conviction teaching. Secondly, from the common law of the faith establishing, it expounds three steps of ideals and conviction building: establishing, retaining and firming; three steps of crisis: suspecting, shaking and losing. Thirdly, it explains the position and effect of the ideals and conviction building in the Party member—self, Party building and social development.Chapter two: historical review of the Party member's ideals and conviction building. It mainly explains the historical necessity of the communism to be the Party member's ideals and conviction, and summarize the experiences and lessons of our Party's ideals and conviction building. It thinks that we should carry forward good experience and draw lessons.Chapter three: the present analysis of the Party member's ideals and conviction building. Firstly, the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics have made strong ideological, theoretical, organic and practical foundation. Secondly, the developments and changes in the global, national and intra-Party conditions make the new period's ideals and conviction building more important and urgent. Thirdly, it describes in great detail data the problems and its concrete express. Fourthly, it objectively analysis the profound reasons of these problems from the developments and changes in economy, politics, culture and society.Chapter four: regarding the developing Marxism as the theoretical foundation of the Party member's ideals and conviction building. To strengthen Party member's ideals and conviction, we must comprehensive the Marxism accurately and wholly, especially grasp Marxist dialectical materialism and historical materialism. In today, we should arm the whole Party with the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Then, it explains and answers Party member's problems and puzzles. We should inspire Party member's inner—motivation through correctly treating and actively guiding the Party member's self—demands, creating a good environment to meet the Party member's self—demands. We should strengthen Party's organic binding force through perfecting and improving primary Party organizations system, regulating Party members strictly and adhering to the correct Party members teaching principles. We should strengthen Party's ideological guarantee through consolidate the guiding position of Marxism and push on the Party's ideology modernity.
