"doing" Hei Yi Zhuang: Agree With The History And Cultural Representation

Heiyizhuang is a ethnic group which belongs to Zhuang nation lives in napo county, Guangxi Zhuang nation Autonomic Province. I engage anthropological fieldwork in Heiyizhuang which are exploiting their group culture and folklore tourism and I want to analysis on the changes process about Heiyizhuang's ethnic identity and culture representation on the base of documentary and known studying achievement. Base on the Heiyizhuang's case, I try to put forward mine opinion about anthropological identity theory.It will be very helpful for us to study the meaning and evolution of Heiyizhuang's identity and culture representation if we pay attention to it's specifically historical context. In 1930s, Guangxi Guomindang government advocated to nationalizing minor ethnic groups in Guangxi for demonstrating the legitimacy of governing. Possessing distinct difference of culture and life style, Heiyizhuang were excluded from mainstream society to border of psychological, cultural and politic. According to the discourse about modernity, They became the other who were imaged to impede the mainstream society's progress. Heiyizhuang generated their stigmatizing identity and came into become a ethnic group in the process. For counterpunch the mainstream society's practical violence and symbolic violence, Heiyizhuang develop certain discourse which according to their special culture element such as folk religion to image and judge the outside world and other ethnic groups from their emic position. As well as their cultural image, Heiyizhuang's cultural cognition such as self, personhood, ethic was altered.After the Chinese People's Republic's establishment, Zhuang Nation identity became the most important element to construct status and identity for Heiyizhuang and other ethnic groups in napo. The distinguish between Heiyizhuang and mainstream society was abridged gradually. But political movernments struck Heiyizhuang's everyday life and traditional culture.
