Centered on the research of the educational circles in Anhui province from 1920 to 1926, this paper tries to open out the solicitude of Ahui-native intellectuals living outside on their hometown's education and factional conflicts in the educational circles which was formed due to different graduation schools and localism in this province.The first chapter focuses on the reformative movement for the Anhui province's education which is caused by the change of political situation after the Zhi-Wan War. The intellectuals of Anhui province living in Beijing and Shanghai firstly combined together and initiated groups of amelioration on Anhui business. Through these organizations, they expressed solicitude on their hometown's education. They kept frequent intercourse with birthplace's elites in the educational circles and directly intervened in the nomination of head of educational department in Anhui province. At the same time, under their influence massive student strikes inside this province which were intended on overthrowing schoolmasters broke out.The second chapter concentrates on the reelect of education association of Anhui province in order to reveal the unceasing intensification of factional conflicts in the educational circles. From the impasses of reelect of education association to the emerge of commissarial education association, Longmen, Liangjiang, Gaodeng, the three cliques in Anhui educational circles, waged long-playing competition in order to grip the hegemony of Anhui province's education. Facing the dissension of education association's reelect, the intellectuals living outside had some intervention in varying extent.The third chapter mainly centers on the reform of educational system in Anhui province and analyses the conflicts of localism which was caused by reorganization of schools and distribution of educational appropriation. Because of the underdevelopment of economy and culture, the clique of Wanbei often played the role of victims and accusers. They wished to get fair treatment of education appropriation. But the clique of Tongcheng and Huaining tried to share more benefits by rights of culture predominance and advantage of a favourable position.The fourth chapter tries to reveal the solicitude of Anhui-native intellectuals living outside on their hometown's education and factional conflicts in Anhui educational circles by outlining the history of preparatory works for Anhui University.The discussion of intellectuals' relations in the educational circles is the main content of provincial educational history compilation. The deep-going research of the solicitude of intellectuals living outside on their hometown's education and factional conflicts in the educational circles may help to deepen our cognition of provincial educational history.
