This paper is focused on IP network QoS. Starting with a typical E2E QoS issue, discussing each aspect of network QoS problems, is the primary methodology used inthis paper. These idiographic aspects include admission controlling, dynamicalresource sharing, packets scheduling algorithm, network resource reservation, QoSprotocols, QoS architectures and QoS policies .The first chapter discusses the significance of applying programming and queuingtheories to solve QoS problems. All means of modeling and simulating in this paperare based on these theories.A new admission controlling algorithm, based on benefit equation, which we callQuixote algorithm, is brought out in the second chapter. This algorithm remarkablyimproves the performance of network systems dealing with soft real-time admissioncontrol. The third chapter gives a new method of multi-dimension QoS modeling in operatingsystems. OS has become the key element of the whole network systems. Using QoSspace, we designed a new way of elevating the performance of OS.Router is obviously the bottleneck of the modern computer network . A new packetsscheduling and dropping algorithm is designed based on the statistics of the Internet. We used this algorithm in our gigabits router and it works well.Chapter five compares the differences between two resource reservation protocolsused in QoS control, RSVP and YESSIR, ad hoc to implementing complexity anddegree of acknowledgement.Chapter six, seven and eight discuss the QoS protocols, QoS architectures and QoSpolicies, and also give the importance of these QoS issues.
