Based on the theory of transmission voltage-switches, in this paper, First, The general structure of binary BiCMOS circuit and ternary BiCMOS circuit are proposed. Second, Based on the general structure of binary BiCMOS circuit and ternary BiCMOS circuit, NPN-NPN binary BiCMOS general drive-circuit, PNP-PNP binary BiCMOS general drive-circuit, PNP-NPN binary BiCMOS general drive-circuit and PNP-NPN-NPN ternary general drive-circuit are proposed. Third, By applying the binary BiCMOS general drive-circuit and ternary general drive-circuit, NPN-NPN binary full-swing BiCMOS general drive-circuit, PNP-PNP binary full-swing BiCMOS general drive-circuit, PNP-NPN binary full-swing BiCMOS general drive-circuit and PNP-NPN-NPN ternary full-swing general drive-circuit are proposed. At last, some binary full-swing BiCMOS circuits and ternary BiCMOS circuits are designed at switch-level.The simulation and measured result shows that all designed binary full-swing BiCMOS circuits and ternary BiCMOS circuits not only have nearly ideal logic functions, but also have simpler structure and simpler design-method. Comparison with the traditional drive-circuits, the designed general drive-circuits are more general, all of designed drive-circuits can be used to design other binary full-swing BiCMOS circuits and other ternary BiCMOS circuits by applying the same design-method.The simulation and measured result also shows the PNP-NPN binary full-swing BiCMOS general drive-circuit can perform correctly with 1.5v supply voltage, and the designed PNP-NPN binary full-swing BiCMOS circuits based on the PNP-NPN binary full-swing BiCMOS general drive-circuits also can perform correctly with 1.5v supply voltage.
