Research And Implementation Of Multimedia Conferencing System To Support Collaborative Work

The multimedia conferencing system is an important tool for cooperative work. The practical and effective system, which can support cooperative work effectively, depends on the understanding of how people work together in organizations, and additionally, the research of a series of supporting technologies.Based on the feather of behavior in enterprise organization evrionment, this thesis discusses several research results including both social psychology foundation and supporting technologies. It aims to construct multimedia conference system, which support cooperative work and enterprise environment In social psychology areas, this paper focuses on the organization behavior theory and its application in conference system. In supporting technologies, this paper focuses on the video coding, voice coding, synchronization, and multipoint conference support as well as conference management The main contribution of this paper is described as following:1. Study deeply and discourse upon the universalistic principle and methodology of organization behavior theory about conference system. Within the research work, it focus on the strategy of conference and the importance of role, which provide social psychology foundation for constructing multimedia conference system supporting group cooperative work environment In addition, this paper models the enterprise organization environment using concept and principle of organization behavior theory, especially the enterprise decision-making conference model. Therefore, identify the requirement of enterprise organization envrionment for conference system. Based on the emphasis on requirement of the obligations and responsibility of working role, behavior stagety of role, and decision-making, this paper propose several speak token control in multipoint conference management scheme.
