Wavelets have found wide applications in image processing due to the time-frequency localization and multiscale analysis property. Image denoising is a classic problem in signal processing. The wavelet transform has become an important tool for image denoising due to its energy compaction property. Multiwavelets tied ideally in its important property of the continuous, compactly supported, symmetric, orthogonal in application. It keeps the fine time-frequency localization property of the single wavelet as well as get over the objection. M -channel wavelet transform is the course which every subband is newly subdivided by M -scale. It is provided with the better time-frequency localization, and its analysis is still agility to signal.Lifting scheme based on space domain is a new method for constructing wavelets and performing wavelet transform. It made us to explain the basis theory of wavelet with a simple method. It compare with the traditional wavelet transform that its computed speed is more fast, its computed mode is more simple, and it is calculated for adaptive wavelet, nonlinear wavelet, nonsingular sampling and the reversible integer to integer wavelet transform.This paper focuses on the multiwavelet transform and M -channel wavelet transform and their application in image processing via lifting scheme. The main work can be summarized as follows:The commonly theory of wavelet is presented, including the commonly concept of MRA, and the important conclusion of the position MRA is proved. The binary wavelet in signal and image processing is discussed, and an algorithm of binary wavelet transform to image is given. Mallat algorithm for signal and image is discussed in detail.Then the method of wavelet image denoising is studied. The several wavelet denoising methods are respectively described in detail, including the Mallat forced denoising, the wavelet transform modulus maximum method, the nonlinear wavelet threshold denoising method and the denoising based on the interrelation of wavelet domain, and this paper compares with these methods, gives two improved methods. The results show that it is practicable and effective to the Gauss noising.The constructing wavelet on space domain is discussed via lifting scheme, and the computed mode of wavelet signal decomposition and reconstruction is achieved based on the lifting scheme.
