In 1970, With the needs of economic and social development, HRD (Human Resource Development) discipline was emerging in the United States. Since then, as an emerging discipline, HRD focused on workplace learning, continued to grow, and had a major impact to the world. In recent years, in the context of globalization and knowledge society, the People's Republic of China put forward a series of strategy, such as, the strategy of building up the strength of the country with talented people, and the strategy of building the human power, our government realized that education and learning are important way to achieve these strategic objectives. At all levels of education and learning, workplace learning whose core is to develop professional quality and work ability plays an important role in realizing the strategy of Human Resource Power. In 2007, the discipline of HRD & Education was established in ECNU, this team aims to cultivate the professionals who will work in companies, government departments, consulting companies and other organizations engaged in training, career development, organizational learning or other human resource activities. It cultivates those academic professionals in colleges, universities, and institutions as well.The emergence of the discipline of HRD & Education shows that HRD begins to walk on the gateway of success. As an emerging discipline, it has to face the problems of its independence and theory building. Therefore, the examination on the 40 years experience in America, the exploration of these basic questions (including concepts, attributes, bodies of knowledge, theoretical basis, research methods and scholar community, et al.) and the attempt to construct the framework and contents of HRD discipline with Chinese characteristics not only are of great importance to the development of HRD discipline in China, but also lay a solid theoretical foundation to realize the strategy of Human Resource Power. This paper explores how the HRD discipline is constructed and how to construct it in the future from the perspective of interdiscipline.Firstly, the paper reviews the research results of interdisciplinary, making a theoretical basis from the perspective of interdisciplinary to study HRD discipline construction. Interdisciplinary as an important way of knowledge generation, refers to two or more with a "can be generalized" of the discipline, in order to solve a problem of common interest, through the interdisciplinary concepts, theories, methods and techniques two-way or multiple communication,so to make knowledge integration on research problems, to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the research process. The nature of interdisciplinary is to achieve integration between the diverse knowledge, is the integration of theory and knowledge of other disciplines to make critical evaluation and creativity combination, to form a new whole process. Different disciplines involved in the interaction process, to generate a "trade zone" of interdisciplinary. "Trade zone" of interdisciplinary through "trade mechanism" to play a role in achieving the "Trade Community" cooperation, thus generating trade results: First, to expand the existing system of academic knowledge; the second to generate new disciplines.Secondly, the paper based on reference and reflection of the results of previous studies, based on a measure of the degree of academic self-concept from the internal and external, discussing HRD discipline as a core concept of an emerging discipline, property characteristics and fundamental issues of interdisciplinary relationships. Relations from an interdisciplinary perspective, it has a close relationship with Human Resource Management, Vocational Education and Adult Education discipline.Thirdly, HRD is a discipline born in the United States, therefore, carding American HRD discipline history systematically and analyzing and reflecting American HRD discipline development present situation, has important reference value to the development of HRD discipline in other counties. The paper showed that HRD discipline is the product of interdisciplinarity by analyzing the history of American HRD discipline. Currently, HRD discipline in the United States is in the process of development, and gradually formed its own frame. However, due to its parent discipline left a deep imprint, American HRD in the subject boundary, discipline theory construction, research methods, the academic community and professional education, etc, filled with all kinds of academic differences in a certain extent restricting its development process. The paper analyzed the necessities and limitations of its recent development situation, and provided related apocalypse.At last, this paper analyzed the necessity and feasibility of the existence of HRD, thus revealed mechanism of birth of the HRD discipline:HRD discipline is not only the result of the pushing of external force, but also the result of the pushing of internal core force. Measured by the independent criteria of the discipline, HRD discipline in China has just born, and HRD discipline in the US is in the process of developing. Therefore, learning from experiences the American HRD discipline is of great significance. This paper based on the essence of interdisciplinarity:knowledge integration as the guiding principle, and portrayed the view of HRD discipline. "Cross creek housing", which is the metaphor of the view, can be described like this:the boundary of the discipline should take "the workplace for field and the employee learning for focus"; The disciplinary theory construction should absorb "multiple material", and lead to the "integrated theory generation"; Research method can be directed by "the comprehensive study of multi-disciplinary method", and realize the "method and problems matching"; Community members can be "multi-disciplinary identity junction", and need the "inner core strength polymerization"; Professional education can have "different academies' ownership", but are in "the same discipline family".
