Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a valuable asset accumulated by Chinese people during the long struggle with the disease. Among natural science field of our country, TCM is the most advantageous and most powerful one to go to the world. Driven by humans trend of "return to simplicity and trueness", "return to nature", TCM will demonstrate its strong vitality and scientific value, bound to be attracted worldwide attention. Therefore, it is our responsibility that in order to meet the development of the Times and the public demand for health care, we must make the full use of modern science and technology to achieve innovation and development of TCM and to promote the modernization and internationalization of TCM based on inheriting and carrying forward the advantage and the characteristics of TCM.Innovation is the key to self-development of TCM. Therefore, according to characteristics, trends and key issues of TCM, " Traditional Chinese Medicine Innovation Development Plan" enacted by China puts forward the basic principles: "equal emphasis on inheritance and innovation, the coordinated development of traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese material medicine, the mutual promotion of modernization and internationalization, multi-disciplines combination", and determines the basic tasks: "inheritance, innovation, modernization and internationalization ".View of above understanding, we have established TCM as the research object. We strive to explore and search possible realization method for innovative thinking in TCM based on the principle of multi-disciplines combination, the "people-oriented, man-machine combination, the comprehensive integration of qualitative to quantitative method" and the Possibility of Construction Space Theory (PCST) in creative thinking raised by Professor Li Dehua.In this thesis, the analysis of creative thinking and fuzzy thinking of TCM is given based on the achievements of previous studies; methods and process of Chinese medicine compound formulation are studied. This thesis aims on the use of computer to simulate the creative process of innovation formulation of TCM. According to the inspiration from fuzzy thinking, the approach using the Fuzzy quantization method of TCM and fuzzy mathematics method to realize the innovative research of TCM is determined.First, the model of innovation formulation system of TCM is proposed as the theoretical basis of PCST in creative thinking. After the analysis of the features of creative thinking in the process of developing and finding novel drugs, a software basement that combines multi-disciplines and provides data analysis for TCM research is established, and the inspired device of creative thinking to help and inspire researchers of TCM to discover novel drugs and to improve existing compounds is established.In order to realize the digitization of Traditional Chinese medicine information, the method of fuzzy quantification to quantify the knowledge of Chinese medicine is proposed. This method adopts qualitative and quantitative combination mode and integrates various representation methods of existing knowledge to formalize our grasped knowledge of TCM and the formulation process.In the process of innovation formulation, fuzzy clustering analysis is used to optimize similarity selection of single drugs based on quantification, which can reduce the elements in single drugs space. And fuzzy quantization statistics is used to execute similarity selection from obtained innovative compounds. So Coarse filter of innovative compounds can be realized by removing the innovative compounds inconsistent with the original compound from innovative compound space. Then weighted lose-degree in fuzzy pattern recognition is used to execute secondary similarity selection from obtained innovative compounds.Therefore, innovative compounds can be sorted in accordance with close-degree of the characteristics of corresponding fuzzy set between innovative compound and the original compound. And innovative compounds with higher weighted close-degree can be provided to traditional Chinese medicine expert to validate and test preferentially. This method of innovation formulation is trying to reduce the possibility construction space from two directions: a single drug space and innovation compound space, which can make the creative thinking converge to the answer finally.Finally this thesis use proposed theory and methods above to design and implement an innovation formulation system of TCM based on PCST and fuzzy mathematics. This innovation system not only has the query function among medical database, but also has the innovative formulations ability to generate novel compound different from the original compound and to produce new options for a new compound, which can inspire TCM researchers to develop novel drugs.The main innovations of this thesis are as follows: PCST of creative thinking and fuzzy mathematics methods are combined and applied to the innovation formulation process of TCM; the following theory and methods are proposed: the model of innovation formulation system of TCM based on PCST, fuzzy quantitative methods of traditional Chinese medicine knowledge, fuzzy cluster analysis of single drugs, innovation compound similarity selection using fuzzy quantization statistics and fuzzy pattern recognition. The study on the model of innovation formulation system of TCM based on PCST can not only improve the theoretical model of PCST, but also provide a new way and a new mean for the theoretical research of TCM and the development of TCM.
