New service development (NSD) is the engine for growth and profitability of business and it can significantly affect the competitive position in the marketplace. The changes in customer demand, increasing intensity in market competition and significant and sustained growth in services cause service innovation to be a bottleneck in enterprises' survival and development. Therefore, NSD process management in enterprise is critical. Under sharing, learning and innovation network of relationships supported by information communication technology in production and delivery of enterprises, it is quite imperative to develop new process models in order to find new methods of service design and delivery. From the view of a single enterprise, a service supply chain constituted by the service provider and its customers, a network environment constituted by the service company, its supplier and customers, a number of models deploying NSD were put forward respectively by studying literatures. Also, the differential equation model was established which reveals the optimization of business performance of the built models for NSD process. The dissertation gets results as follows:Firstly, a model of NSD strategy structure driven by the operating losses was built. The dissertation introduced the Quality Function Development theory to service development process, and put forward NSD selection strategy for a company operating direction. The proposed NSD strategy can be as a planning tool for the development of NSD operations strategy and service system design.Secondly, a model for multiple continuous developments of new services within a single enterprise under certainty was proposed. The dissertation set up a differential equation model for process performance, which demonstrated the optimization from the perspective of business performance for NSD activities. It could be concluded that continous NSD theoretically would be better for the enterprise in the long run.Thirdly, a model for NSD process under bricolage to improve services was proposed. The dissertation established the differential equation model to demonstrate performance optimization of the proposed model. We put forward an effective way to deal with elements of the relationship within NSD process.Fourthly, a model for NSD process in a firm introducing customer resources of service supply chain was proposed. Little research takes the customers as business development resources into the NSD process. The dissertation found that the introduction of customer resources to NSD process of the enterprise brought greater performance than traditional development model without internalizing customer resources to the enterprise.Fifthly, a normative model of NSD process was proposed based on Reverse Product Cycle (RPC). The research focused on the level of implementation of service activities in the enterprise. First, the dissertation proposed RPC-based business process model of NSD. Then, based on service activities of customer participation and service customization the operation method of the built model was put forward. Finally, the business cycle model of NSD process performance was set up.Sixthly, a process model namely new service development hub (NSD-Hub) for service business in the network environment was set up. The dissertation proposed a new NSD process model and established the differential equation model from the perspective of performance by the method of logical reasoning. The results verify the effectiveness and optimization of NSD-Hub model. This dissertation mainly explored the problem of the process model of NSD in enterprises from different perspectives. As a result of complexity of service content and exhibition of diversity and heterogeneity for service, NSD process model is hard to set up. The dissertation based on unified services theory to make the initial attempt.
