Reseach On The Relationships Between Dynamic Capabilities And Firm Performance On The Background Of Internationalization

Under the background of economic globalization and regional economic integration, more and more Chinese firms begin to engage in international cooperation. It is crucial for domestic enterprises to construct and develop their dynamic capabilities in the fierce international market competition. This paper constructs a framework of dynamic capabilities, degree of internationalization and firm performance to examine the relations between them. Through the analysis of the relationships between the three key concepts, our research may offer theoritical support and guide for the firms to build and develop dynamic capabilities.On the basis of plentiul literature reseach, it is suggested that the firm's dynamic capabilities are constructd by five different. and interrelated factors:dynamic information utilizing capability, dynamic resources-accessing capability, dynamic resources-integating capability and dynamic resources-reconfiguring capability, We then check the moderating role of environmental disturbance. After separately discussing the relationships between the five specific dynamic capabilities and firm performance,we then analyzed the relationship between degree of internationalization and firm performance,and the relationship between dynamic capabilities.Through the discuss of the three factors,we build the corresponding theoritical model and analytical framework..Through the empirical study of 173 international firms in Hubei province, we got several conclusions as follows:(1) the five sub-capabilities are significantly correlated and positive to firm performance. Dynamic information utilizing capability is the key point in the interfunctioned network relationships.(2)The moderate effect of environmntal disturbance is analyzed from two aspects.market disturbance and technological disturbance,by splitting the samples into two parts according to the value of their corresponding data, the result of recession analysis shows that both market and technological disturbance positively moderate the relationship between dynamic capabilities and firm perdormance.(3) The explorative research confirms that dynamic capabilities are significantly positive to the degree of internationalization. The result of empirical research shows that dynamic capabilities has significant influence on both depth and breadth of internationalization. By contrast,(4)Firm performance is significantly and positively influenced by dynamic capabilities.Except for the direct infulence on firm performace, dyanmic capabilities also influnce firm performance indirectly through the intermediate of the firm's depth and breadth of internationalization. By illustrating the mechanism how dynamic capabilities influnce the firm's performance. This conclusion has enriched and improved the dynamic capabilities theories.(5) The explorative research confirms that dynamic capabilities are significantly positive to the degree of internationalization. The result of empirical research shows that dynamic capabilities has significant influence on both depth and breadth of internationalization. By contrast, the rise of depth of internationalization stands for the expansion manner by increasing specific foreign market resources, it is based on the firm's dynamic capabilities, the rise of depth of internationalization stands for the manner by expanding market scope which can bring the firm scale economy and scope economy, to some extent, the requirement of dynamic capabilities seems to be lower.
