On The Laws Of Technology

The theory of laws is an important content of the study of philosophy. For a long time, the academia has focused on the philosophy study about law of nature and law of society. Despite the fact that science and technology is highly developed, our concern of law of technology has been mainly focused on the evolutional law of technology in a macroscopic context, while little attention has been paid to the existential law of technology in a microscopic context. What's more, we lack a thorough and systematic study in that philosophy. With the increasing of the importance of S&T, technological science develops rapidly, and generativism and viewpoint of law have brought great challenges to the traditional viewpoint of law. The western countries' influence on the philosophical theories such as laboratory research and constructivism of scientific knowledge has sparked different ideas in domestic academia. Those ideas need to be analyzed, selected, carefully sorted out and further studied. At the same time, we need to study the relationship of S&T, technological law, artificial nature, man and nature from the perspective of the theory of laws. That requires us to study thoroughly and systematically into the philosophy of law of technology, by which we can enrich and deepen people's understanding of law, and also make contributions to make reasonable and scientific development plan, boost the healthy development of S&T and build a harmonious socialist society.Law of technology refers to the intrinsic, necessary and stable connections generated from men's technological activities. It is generated from men's activities, and exists and functions within them.Law of technology is artificial. It is generated under the condition of special man-made prerequisite and artificial connections between matters, following the generation of artificial substances and artificial processes. It exists and functions under corresponding conditions.Due to the fact that law of technology is generated from men's activities, it is different from law of nature in that it has the quality of belonging to men and artificiality. That is that it isn't independent from men's will but dependent on the men's activities. Law of technology and law of nature have internal unity. It is based on law of nature, but it does not belong to the law of nature. The artificiality of law of technology determines that men have an active dynamic relationship with it and makes the artificial generation of law of technology indefinite. However, it is restricted by objective conditions and law of nature. Men cannot create it at their own will. So, law of technology is the dialectical unity of infiniteness and objective conditionality.Technological science is the science dealing with technology and the law of technology. Technological science research is the basis and method to generate and understand the law of technology. The artificial generation and application of law of technology facilitates the development of artificial nature and improves people's living standards unceasingly, but it also is the roots of various technological risks. All these determine that its application should be kept within a certain limit to boost the benign application of law of technology and promote the development of technology towards an environmental-friendly and humanistic direction.
