The consumption credit has been operated just for about ten years in China. As it has to be said, this kind of credit is still in its starting period either in practice or on theory in the country. The government has decided that the economic growth-pattern will be transformed from export-guiding and investment-pulling one to internal-demanding-stimulation one in the 11th five-year planing. As resident consumption is one of the important internal demand, it has to be thought of not only a micro-economic problems but also a macro-economic one.In this article, the definition of consumption credit is that the loan to personal and family consumption offered by credit institutes. Three main questions have been studied here around the development of consumption credit during the transformation period.Firstly,We think over how to take an all-round view of the positive and negative influence in consumption credit development, and how to analyze and use the successful experience of the developed countries for reference.Consumption credit plays a positive role obviously. This has been recognized fully by theoreticians. In the first half of the last century, some famous economist, including Keynes,Friendman etc, had made a systematic study on the relation between consumption and economic growth, which formed the basis of consumption credit theory. Then Fisher and others approached the subject from different angles. In the article, We have accepted this positive opinions and given a clear explanation by some mathematic models.
