Since 1978, economic system reform has brought more opening and more market freedom to China economy. The target mode of market economy established by the Fourteenth Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in 1992 was the symbol that China economic system reform was entering a transition phase, which was transferring from sensibility developing phase that characterized as experimental, separate, interest-induced, destroying old system to a sense advancing phase that characterized as systematic, go-aheadism, institution innovation, setting up market economy framework. To 2005, a new institutional framework has been primarily constituted. Aftertime will be the perfecting phases for the new market economy system. Therefore it is the time to summarize China economy transferring.Economy growth is the precondition of enhancing wellbeing, society development and political steady. Traditional leading economic growth theories mostly overlooked the study of institution factor, while the new institutional economics'study on the relation between institution and growth lacked precise symbolic logic and analysis. Since the reform from 1978, economy growth with a high speed in China markedly has a close relation with transferring from planned economy to market economy. Wherefore there are very important practical and theoretical significance to study the relation between institutional change in the economy transformation process and economic growth.This paper does a research on institutional change in the economy transformation periods (1978-2003) and economic growth. On the basis of summarizing experimental research methods of current new institutional economics, this paper adopts the methods combined economic growth theoretical analysis and econometrics experimental study, carries economics analysis on the experimental analysis and puts forward relevant suggestion for policies. The detailed contents are as follows.Chapter 1 is introduction. In this chapter the research background and purpose were explained and the key concepts involved in this paper were defined. On a literature review of domestic and abroad researches, the structure of this paper and research methods were given. Also the main contribution and innovation of this paper were pointed out in this part.
