Nowadays, how to promote the regional sustainable development is not only an important economic and social problem, but also the urgency of materializing the scientific development concept and the construction of the harmonious socialist society. Through the gradual diversification, human geography and regional economics become more and more mixed with useful components in economics, sociology and other subjects, providing a better understanding of laws of regional development from multi-subject methods and theories and encouraging us to center on the micro-spatial level of social connection and the interaction between actors in the interior of region from the macro spatial scales when we are studying the unevenly balance of the regional development. Following the fundamental principles of public economics, viewing non-rival and non- exclusive as the standard for classification and taking the concept of externality as the linking point, valuable goods in society can be divided into private goods, public goods and mixed goods three kinds. According to this view, the region with market mechanism and public adjustment is actually occupied and divided by the goods with different external representations. Therefore, the spatial structure of region can also be considered as the organic construction of the goods or unit of the goods; many central problems in the regional development are always reflected on such goods with reactive functions, and the characteristics, correlation, spatial structure and evolution mechanism of goods play dominant roles on regional development. This paper takes"the goods", the particularly micro-economic entity, as the basic factor to have a spatial analysis of regional development. Through an exploration, spatial characteristics, typical agglomeration structure and evolution mechanism of goods on the basis of externality will be realized. At the same time, taking SD Dengfeng experimental zone as an example, this paper explores the relationships between spatial agglomeration of goods and regional development, putting forth strategies on the improvement of spatial structure of goods and the advancement of regional sustainable development (SD).The paper is divided into eight chapters.Chapter one as an introduction presents the related theory, practical background and significance of the subject, the foundation of the selected experiment zone, the framework, contents, methods, and innovations of the research.Chapter two is concerned with the theories and literature of review related to the topic. It includes the concepts, principles of classification and basic types of goods, the externality theory, spatial theory of regional development , the growth pole theory, cluster theory, sustainable development theory (such as achievements, deficiency and evaluation of SD) and the discussion of economic theories(such as public economics, institutional economics and endogenous growth economic based on SD).Chapter three analyzes the spatial characteristics of goods on the basis of externality. This part summarizes general external characteristics of different goods and their spatial externality using theories of public economics and externality. It firstly analyzes the spatial connection of goods under externality, and then explores the extension and coverage of goods, the organic characteristics and scarcity of goods'spatial constitutes.Chapter four discusses spatial structure of goods and its effect on regional development. It involves fundamental form and some typical structure of goods'spatial agglomeration, and spatial evolution mechanism of goods based on"stick structure", the relationship between spatial composing of goods and regional sustainable development. In addition, this part generalizes the analysis framework and points of spatial agglomeration of regional goods.Chapter five concerns the spatial agglomeration of goods in Dengfeng. It introduces the natural and human conditions, the history and spatial layout of Dengfeng and the appraisal of SD experimental zone in Dengfeng. Furthermore, it studies the influencing factors and structural characteristics of goods'spatial agglomeration in Shaolin. In addition, the part explores goods'spatial agglomeration and its effect on regional development of Shaolin from its four stages since the open-up policy.Chapter six analyzes the trend surface of goods'spatial externality of Shaolin. It constitutes the modeling principles of trend surface, the dividing methods of goods as fundamental region unit, the definition of regional goods units, the design of characteristics indexes and the methods and steps of finding material characteristics indexes. Furthermore, this part introduces the sum spatial externality of goods in experimental zone and the simulation results and its evaluation of trend surface with ecological, economic and social externality.Chapter seven focuses on study the comparison and countermeasure about the good's space structure and its configuration in experimental zone. Firstly, it studies the comparisons between types of experimental zone in Henan province, for example, the goods'space based on eco-agriculture in Yanling, and the goods'space based on valley and non-material public goods in Linzhou. Secondly, in light of the above analysis and the present question in Dengfeng County it brings forward the significant countermeasure of district coordinated growth through optimizing the good's space structure.Chapter eight is the conclusion of this paper. Based on the above theoretical and empirical analysis, it has a summary of main findings and standpoint about the influence of the region development upon the goods'spatial agglomeration, thus bringing forth the projection of further research on the goods'space to look forward the future of this study.
