Based on the hyper-competition in the competition of globle commercial banks in 1990s: the paper puts forward the determination model of competitive strategy efficiency which tries to slove the problems how to evaluate the quality of competitive strategy and its execution in commercial banks, after the problems are studyed about commercial banks that the model change of competitive orientation, some efficiencies of competition and determinative factors of competitive strategy efficiency.The profound change occurred in the competition and the route how to win competitive advantages of commercial banks in 1990s, with the development of the globalization and liberalization of finance. In the competition of commercial banks, the bottlenecks of technology were endlessly broken; the vallations of system were gradually demolished; the domestic markets were continually amalgamated into international market; the objects of competition were constantly extended from commercial banks to other financial institutions, even common enrerprises. In the impacts of above transform and competition, commercial banks are faced with both unprecedented chances and increasingly threatens. In the bakeground, commercial banks begin to more depend on competitive strategy in the course of winning competitive advantages, competitive strategy gradually becomes the orientation force of competition, the execution of competitive strategy is more attended by bankers, the problem of competitive strategy efficiency begins to gradually go forward position of the competition theory of commercial banks.The study on competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks can be divided up into six segments: introduction, the theory development of correlative study, the present competitive state of commercial banks, the determinative factors of the competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks, the determination model of competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks and the empirical research of the determination model. In the segment of introduction, it is introduced that the accordance of the study, the background of the study, the technological route of the study and the definition of some concepts; In the segment of the theory development of correlative study, some theories are importantly introduced that the management theory of commercial banks baded on the theory of fund management, the theory of strategy management based on the theory of the core competence of enterprises and the theory of performance management based on the theory of strategic, worknet; In the segment of the present competitive state of commercial banks, the scan analysis and tendency forecast are carefully made to the competition of globle commercial banks based on the top 1000 in journal of the banker, in which, the analysis of the industry structure of commercial banks and the summing-up of the competitive features of commercial banks become the accordance to further explore the determinative factors of competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks; In the segment of the determinative factors of the competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks, the three determinative factors resource, competence and envimment are abstracted from a large number of effect factors on competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks by the logstic model and questionnaire, which is the analysis platform and frame foundation to construct the determination model of competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks; In the segment of the determination model of competitive strategy efficiency of commercial banks, the determination model and its index system are constructed according to the basic conclusion that competitive strategy efficiency depends on the compounding effociency of resource, competence and envimment three factors, through the definition of the presupposition and supposition, some mechanisms and effects are given through the analysis to the use mechanisms of the model, at the same time, the profound analysis is also done to the main obstacles of the model use, the analysis of the mechanisms is aim to give an "operation instruction" of the model "machine"; In the segment of the empirical research of the determination model, famous CITYGROUP, HSBC HOLDINGS, MUZIHU and INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL BANK OF CHINA four banks are chosen as the samples of the empirical research of the determination model, the defects and superiorities of the four banks are systematically analysed through the model, the outcomes of the empirical research basically reflect the competitive fact of the four banks, which provides the forceful evidences to the validity of the model.The study puts the factor of envimment usually as the external factor into the interior of the category of competitive strategy efficiency, which makes it an interior variable from an external variable in the system of competitive strategy efficiency, and commercial banks gain a tool of strategy management directing and standardizing the execution of competitive strategy through the use of the model, which ferther explicits the route, direction and measure of the competitive execution in commercial banks.It is specially pointed that our country has opened the industry of finance comprehensively in the end of 2006, according to the acceptance of offer given by taking part in WTO in 2001. Now, the industry of our commercial banks has overall merged into the tide of the competition of globle commercial banks. The important signifcance is provided with the conclusion and achievement of the study for our commercial banks to take part in the globle competition and to rapidly grow and strengthen.
