Caspian region, which plays a very important role in geopolitics and geo-economics, spans Europe-Asian continent. It is the third origin region for energy sources in the world. Meanwhile national contradiction is very serious in the region and many countries spare one eye on it because nowadays each country confronts the threat of energy resources crisis when the petroleum price becomes higher and higher. The typical example is that the western developed countries such as America snatch the world energy resources with their advantages of force and economy. After Soviet Union disjoint, more and more new reserves of petroleum and gas were discovered in Caspian region and many western petroleum companies also garrison into that region in succession. With the situation changing, there are so many dissertation which discuss the energy resources in Caspian region and some Chinese scholar also do some research on that, but these researches just limit in the geopolitics of Caspian region and seldom discuss the energy resources in the region.The dissertation mainly discusses the reserves of petroleum and natural gas in, the situation of geopolitics, the relationship between the distribution of petroleum pipeline and the geopolitics in Caspian region. On the basis of analyzing the distribution of petroleum pipeline in Caspian region with game theory methods, the dissertation further analyzes the benefit contention of politics and diplomacy at the back of petroleum pipeline. Then the dissertation puts forward and demonstrates that Shanghai cooperation organization should change its function from the political organization of antiterrorism to the cooperation organization of energy resources.Meanwhile according to the actuality of energy resources development in Xinjiang China, the dissertation also discuss that how to develop multilateral cooperation on regional energy on the background of petroleum cooperation between the Caspian region and Mid-Asian region. The dissertation also discuss under the complicated international environment, how China keep its own advantages and makes full use of different political, economic and diplomatic ways to protect its benefit, and try best to impulse energy cooperation to a new phase.The first chapter discusses the reserves of petroleum and natural gas, the petroleum pipeline, the natural gas pipeline, and makes a compare on the existing research data from the world and many Chinese research organizations.The second chapter discusses that America and Russia compete each other on the energy resource of Caspian region, but Russia also cooperate with some western petroleum companies in order to strengthen its benefit. Meanwhile Iran and Turkey are also very important to Caspian region on the respect of energy development.The third chapter discusses the energy resources of different countries in Caspian region. Baku-Ceyhan petroleum pipeline is discussed on stress hereinto.The fourth chapter discusses the cooperation and problem from countries on the energy resources in Caspian region. For example the western petroleum companies explore the petroleum in that region, Russia has a deep influence on the petroleum market in that region, geographical, resource and coastline problems because of increasing countries in that region from original two countries to present five countries. Especially the article discusses the nation problem in Caucasian region, the Islamic problem in Chechnya and their influence to the energy and the petroleum pipeline.The fifth chapter discusses the strategy of petroleum cooperation on the basis of analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese petroleum companies in Caspian region. Because in ancient times there is trade between China and Caspian region, till now we still keep good friendship. What's more nowadays every country confronts its energy crisis. So China must further strength its cooperation of petroleum in Caspian region.Another feature of this is analyzing the petroleum flow in the petroleum pipeline of Caspian region with the game theory method, the position of China in this game and the countermeasures that China have to adopt on the petroleum cooperation between China and the countries of Caspian sea. The innovation of this dissertation is analyzing the game between Baku-Ceyhan petroleum pipeline and Sino-Kazakhstan with the game theory. Through a series of matrix models, the dissertation demonstrates that there is game between these pipelines, discusses the result of this game and the strategy that China should adopt in this energy contention.
