The Study Of The Generation Mechanism Of Industrial Agglomeration And Its Empiric Research

Industrial agglomeration in space is not only the most outstanding geographic characteristics of economic activities,but also a worldwide economic phenomenon.Nevertheless,space is ignored by mainstream economic theory,so it is impossible to explain phenomena of Industrial agglomeration.Many theorists and empiricists put forward several explanations.However, where industrial agglomeration appears and how it appears haven't been explained very completely.This dissertation absorbs New Economic Geography theory and other research achievements, and intends to develop a theory framework including embededness of industrial agglomeration, instigation of entrepreneur,dynamics of industrial agglomeration,self-reinforcement of industrial agglomeration and shock sensibility,in order to give a complete interpretation for the generation of industrial agglomeration.Initial conditions and social capitals can self-organize and generate industrial agglomeration at an obscure beginning.Entrepreneurs take advantage of all kinds of resources to serve for their entrepreneurial activities,and their external resources develop at the same time,then entrepreneurs instigate the generation of industrial agglomeration. Factors mobility,increasing returns to scale and trade costs promote local industry to attain scale economies which attract upstream and downstream industry to agglomerate,hence,industry internal scale economies get larger and self-sustaining.Industry internal scale economies bring about the development of industry external scale economies and self-reinforcement gradually. Industry inducement and institutions requirement promote policies establishment to make industrial agglomeration self-adjusting.Based on these,the dissertation continues to validate five theory propositions of generation mechanism of industrial agglomeration,and gives further explanation.The study on generation of industrial agglomeration is an important factor for a region or country to make policy on industrial agglomeration.Therefore,the way to industrial agglomeration and regional economic development is to promote ring distribution of industry and differential development of regions.In this way,they can realize scale economies of industrial agglomeration and comparative advantages of regions.
