Confronting fast changing market environment and increasing globalization competition, the Chinese automotive industry in 21st century should adapt itself to satisfy the informatization development requirements of international manufacture industry which characterizes globalization, integration, cooperativity and public service. As a new organization pattern, virtual supply chain (VSC) can realize optimal combination of various resources to the fullest extent and enhance market response speed of supply chain and market competitiveness. VSC based on cybermediary (VSC-CM) is an innovative supply chain management (SCM) pattern which results from new competitive environment and conforms to informatization development trend of Chinese automotive industry. It mainly turns to cybermediary serving certain industry for aid to offer information resource services and common technology supports on SCM to various enterprises in the industry by means of "one serves many". This paper establishes VSC-CM management framework and its operation model and goes deep into study on several key technologies to actualize the model.1. After giving a detailed analysis on current situation and development requirements of SCM in the Chinese automotive industry and operation features of automotive industry supply chain, the paper presents main preponderance of VSC-CM applied to the industry and determines management responsibility of cybermediary and its functions serving as cooperative service center. Thereby, VSC-CM operation model and its management architecture applied to the automotive industry are established, and the key technology involved in VSC-CM operation is analyzed in detail.2. The paper discusses methods and features of VSC-CM optimal design based on customer demand goals. According to statistical analysis on features of customer demands in the automotive industry, comprehensive reliability index and familiarity index of enterprise and supply chain in VSC-CM operation pattern are defined, and a customer demand goal system which covers the indexes of time, quality, cost, service, comprehensive reliability and familiarity degree is set up and quantifying methods of corresponding goals are given. Moreover, the paper establishes a three-stage scheme of VSC-CM optimal design based on dynamic goals which can simultaneously satisfy holistic optimization demands of VSC-CM and individuation demands of member enterprises, and offers VSC optimal design algorithm which synthesizes Fuzzy c-Means Clustering algorithm and Topsis Comprehensive Evaluation algorithm and gives corresponding case study.3. On the basis of workflow technology, the paper analyzes features of VSC-CM operation process, such as distributed, dynamic and object-oriented etc., and constructs VSC-CM dynamic operation process model which can adapt to diverse operating environment by creatively applying Object Petri Net with Changeable Structure (OPN-CS). A changeable structure algorithm is also provided to restructure VSC flexibly and modify process model dynamically. In addition, an object-oriented VSC-CM process management system framework and model matching the process model are established, which actualizes flexible modeling and agile management of VSC-CM operation process.4. The paper elaborates on VSC-CM management stratagem goals—"to foster industry SC and enterprise group with persistent competition " and gives corresponding implementing strategies. Then the stratagem-oriented VSC performance evaluation management system and evaluation model are set up, and methods and strategies of enterprise comprehensive performance evaluation which aims at above evaluation system and reflects the correlations between VSC holistic performance and member enterprise performance are put forward. Moreover, the paper gives emphasis on constructing the evaluation index system of VSC-CM holistic performance and cooperation performance based on interaction and collaboration processes between enterprises. It also demonstrates concision and practicability of the performance evaluation algorithm based on Triangle. Fuzzy Numbers Complementary Matrix Analytic Hierarchy Process algorithm and multilevel Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation algorithm.5. According to above theory researches and practices of the automotive industry, the paper constructs a VSC-CM management prototype system based on J2EE framework.Studies on VSC-CM operation pattern and its key technology satisfy stratagem requirements of informatization development in the automotive industry—to boost informatization course of small and medium-size enterprises and enhance SC cooperation level of whole industry. Researches of the paper will benefit theory development and further application of VSC-CM.
