The serious lack of iron ore resources has become a bottleneck for the improvementof our country’s steel enterprises, and even has threatened our country’s economicsafety. Now most available iron ore resources are have shallow mining depth. Deepore prospecting will become the main way for ore prospecting. This paper is based onthe present situation of deep ore prospecting of our country. The geophysical modelfor deep iron ore prospecting has been summarized. And a case of ironore area inHenan province has been chosento be researched by geological and integratedgeophysical methods, which are based on the physicalcharacteristic difference of orebodies and their surrounding rocks. The regional geological background has beensummarized and integrated geophysical detection have carried out, includinghigh-accuracy ground magnetic survey, controlled source audio-frequency magneto-telluric(CSAMT) and well logging. Raw data has been processed to do someinversion operation, and the results have been interpreted to testify and modify thegeophysical method of deep iron ore prospecting.The main achievements are following:(1) According to the geophysical achievements of two kinds of iron ores, thegeophysical model of deep iron ore prospecting has been summarized.(2) Under the guide of geophysical model of deep iron ore prospecting, the integratedgeophysical surveys are firstly carried out in the research area,includinghigh-accuracy ground magnetic survey and CSAMT.And the results arewell.(3) According to requirements, a pre-processing program has been edited to do somecalculations, including combing magnetic data after daily variation and GPS,doing correction work in altitude and horizontal gradient. After detailed analysis, apoint has been put up: the large flow and flat magnetic anomalies should befocused during analysis.(4) After summarizing the iron ore rules of previous scientists in the research area ofHenan province, combined with research of integrated geophysical methods, the model of using integrated geophysical methods to prospect deep iron ores hasbeen put forward: following the guide of correct metallogenic theories and models,comprehensive utilization of various kinds of geophysical methods (magneticsurvey, CSAMT, well logging, and so on) to do comprehensive interpretation withmulti-physical characteristics and multi-parameters is able to locate and forecastthe ore bodies, and is able to achieve the purpose of finding deep iron ores. Ittestified and corrected the geophysical model of deep iron ore prospecting.
