The exploration for concealed or deep ore body in the general survey of gold and iron mines of Lugou, linqiu county can gain great economical benefits with less investment by the aid of comprehensive geophysical prospecting. Of the area surveyed, the strata are mainly Jinggangku and Zhuangwang Formation of Wutai Group, Gaoyuzhuang Formation of Changchengian System and the Quaternary layer characterized by faulted structure. The Jingangku Formation, as iron-containing rock series, is a favorable region for exploring iron deposit of Anshan type and magnetite quartzite are found on its earth surface; gold deposits found in the northeast areas surveyed are gold-bearing altered rock.Compared to other rocks, magnetite quartzite possesses excellent magnetic properties accompanied by obvious magnetic difference; the polarization of magnetite quartzite and serite-quartz-schist are higher than other rocks with significant polarization difference. Therefore, the adoption of high-precision magnetic measurement and induced polarization (IP) are the premise of physical geography.Experiments with IP parameter define power supply period of instruments, time-lapse properties, the breadth of sampling, IP device methods and electrode spacing. Of the study, according to working standard, High-precision magnetic survey, IP gradient and IP sounding are carried out in the field construction that meets the requirement and data collection is reliable; the data analysis of comprehensive geophysical prospecting are as follows.1. having a fully understanding of the character of magnetic anomaly and IP in the general survey of gold and iron mines of Lugou, linqiu county. High polarizability and low resistivity are displayed in IP anomalies; magnetic feature is distinct in the areas surveyed. AT value is relatively low in the north, featured by weak magnetic regions while it is high in the south featured by strong magnetic regions.2. According to geophysical anomaly, four large areas of magnetic abnormal, nine small areas of strong magnetic abnormal, and five IP abnormal areas delineated altogether are analyzed and confirmed by drilling. Magnetite is found in the abnormal regions.3.The combined use of high-precision magnetic survey and IP could be effectively applied in the exploration of magnetite or its associated minerals to confirm orebody locality and IP sounding can detect the deeper buried mines, which provide physical geography theory for drilling verification. Electricity and magnetic measurement used in integrated profile geophysical-geochemical exploration anomalies are comprehensive ore-hunting indicators.
