The growth fault system at Stratton filed which is located in Texas, United States, has beenchosen for detailed study in this thesis. Based on the theory of three dimensional seismicexploration and structural geology, detailed structural interpretation has been conducted byutilization of seismic, geology and well log data. Multi attribute analysis has been carried out byusing variance, curvature, ant-tracking and spectral decompaction. The newly introduced mostextreme curvature shows advantages in fault detection, especially in delineating the along-strikevariation of fault trace. A fault probability cube has been produced by artificial neural network toassist the structural interpretation. Discrete fracture network model simulates the development offractures and suggests the effect of transfer zone on permeability. The result of detailed structuralinterpretation indicates the complexity of regional structures. Transfer zone is observed in thecenter of the study area, and shale ridge is developed at the bottom. A reasonable explanation forstructural evolution is proposed by analysis of regional extensional strain and original mechanismof growth fault system and transfer zone.
