A lot of sloping farmland is located in the wide Karst area of southwest China, where the climate is wet and the main plant is corn and sweet potato. For planting corn and sweet potato this kind of land has to be ploughed roughly, which makes the soil on the top of limestone lost and limestone exposed, and then leads to Karst Rock Desertification.Karst rock desertification is one of three main ecological disasters in China. If the farmers give up the traditional planting technology, and adopt the ecological agricultural technology, the income of the farmers can be increased and the Karst Rock Desertification can be controlled. The government policy that can help the farmers giving up the traditional planting technology and adopting the ecological agricultural technology will be significantly valuable. For Ecological recovery and restoration, ecological agricultural technology has been developed by the research institution funded by the government. To control Karst Rock Desertification, in ecologically vulnerable regions, quite a number of ecological demonstration bases has been built by Chinese government in order to help the farmers adopting Ecological Agricultural Technology and then get the Ecological benefit, social benefit and economic benefit. However, the government’s action hasn’t led to the expected result. From the perspective of Land Utilizing Structure, this study makes the first empirical study on the impact of Land Endowment heterogeneity on the ecological agricultural technologies adopting in sloping farmland that owned by farmer of southwest China and gives some suggestions for government action. Land Endowment refers to the land’s nature character, social character and economic character. Land Endowment includes nature endowment and human endowment. Land Endowment refers to sum of nature, social, and economic endowment of land. The concept of land endowment is definite by crossing physical Geography and human Geography, which belongs to Unifying Geography. With Land Utilizing Structure analysis, this study defines the nature endowment of farmland as Dual-Geomorphic Structure which is consist of sloping farmland and Flatland farmland, Multi-Spatial Structure which is consist of fragmentary land, Patch-Quality Structure which is consist of farmland with the different extent of Rock Desertification. Land Utilizing Structure is the nature at structure of Land Endowment. By making impact on the flowing of production factors, Land Utilizing Structure physically affects farmer’s Behaviors of Adopting Ecological Agricultural Technologies. The farmer’s Behaviors of Adopting Ecological Agricultural Technologies is a series of actions. It includes Technology Adoption Willingness, Technology Adoption Decision, Technology Adoption Degree, and Organization Form for Technology Adoption, Technology Adoption benefits and so on. This thesis makes the empirical study by evidence of Honeysuckle planting technology developed by Wushan Ecological Demonstration Base located in Chongqing city. The data sample for empirical study is collected from the farmers around the base. This study makes the following contributions to the existed literatures,(1) Farmer’s Behaviors of Adopting Ecological Agricultural Technologies belongs to research area of Geography in Man-Land Relationship, however, existing Geography research pays no enough attention to this topic. This thesis makes the original research on this topic by combining human and physical Geography research methodology.(2) In most existed literatures, Human Geography study and physical geography study are separated. In this research, a series of Unifying Geography modes are developed by combining Quantitative Geography model and quantities economics model. The data sample combined nature data and human data are also built to estimate the Unifying Geography modes. The results show this research methodology is working well.(3) Quite a number of literatures have studied the difference of Land Endowment in different areas, however, all these literatures assumed that the land endowment is same on Peasant Households-scale; the only existed difference is size of farmers’land. This study presents that the heterogeneity on Peasant Households-scale has a real impact on the farmer’s Behaviors of Adopting Ecological Agricultural Technologies. Further more, the nature Endowment of land can be explained from the Perspective of Land Utilizing Structure of Peasant Households. Consequently, in process of making policy for controlling Rock Desertification, the government should not only consider the nature endowment of land in area-scale, but also take into account difference of nature endowment on Peasant Households-scale.(4) This study finds that the Threshold Effected does exist in the relationship between Land Utilizing Structure and farmer’s Behaviors of Adopting Ecological Agricultural Technologies, the relationship presents U curve. Consequently, in order to design more appropriate policy to encourage the farmers adopt new Ecological technologies, the government should understand the quantity of Land Utilizing Structure in process of policy making.(5) The size of Honeysuckle planting area is generally small in the data sample of this study. The study result shows that Honeysuckle planting has the highest efficiency of scale when the size of sloping farmland is from15to146Mu (1Mu=0.0667hectares) and the ratio of sloping farmland to flat farmland is from6to15.(6) The study result shows that it is easier to make the farmers put their own fragment lands together with other’s land when each Mu (1Mu=0.0667hectares) land is consist of more than1.3piece of land.(7) It is more difficult to promote the adoption of Ecological Agricultural Technologies when Karst Rock Desertification area is more than56.0%, in this condition, the cost of recovering Karst Rock Desertification by human being is much high, nature recovering is more suitable mode.(8) The general bank credit policy possibly lead farmers transfer to other trade, the more specified credit policy for Ecological Agricultural Technologies should be make to promoted the degree of Ecological Agricultural Technologies adoption. In the same time, the deal of farmers’land and corporation among farmers should be encouraged to control the market risk of Honeysuckle planting.(9) Ecological Agricultural Technologies have the character of public goods, so this research suggests that the government devotement is the most important factor for the spread of Ecological Agricultural Technologies.(10) The study suggests that the government should encourage well educated, young and experienced farmers invest Ecological Agricultural Technologies. The qualification of farmer has the positive impact on Ecological recovery and restoration.
