Through field survey and laboratory test the engineering geological conditions and rock mechanics characteristic of deep coal roadway in Shenbei Mining Area, the distribution law of in-situ stress are studied and the damage characteristics of deep coal roadway are analyzed. The main destruction reasons are concluded in the paper. Also the failure processes of traditional supporting methods are reappeared by numerical analysis and the main relative factors are proposed. The author holds that traditional supporting material is inadaptation of large deformation in deep coal roadway and the coupling support technology of constant-resistance large deformation bolt is put forward. The research results are applied to deep coal roadway supporting practice in Qingshui coal mine. The coupling support technology of constant-resistance large deformation bolt+steel mesh+corner bolt pipe is proved to be reasonable in the Naner05Transporting Crossheading. In addition, the new constant resistance large deformation bolt is effective to control the large deformation of deep coal roadway.
