Lu’an mining area is one of12areas belonging to Shanxi provinces, supported as one of19national coal planning mining area. Long time and high strength coal mining activites causeseriouse environmental problem, such as ground subsidence, crack, waste rock stacked, and exhaust,and wastewater emissions. These activites have great impact on the local traffic, people life andeconomic development, gradually became the constraint bottleneck of regional sustainabledevelopment. This paper adopted the methods of combination of qualitative analysis andquantitative evaluation, combination of development present situation analysis and environmentalbearing capacity evaluation, combination of the present situation investigation and the dynamicanalysis, combination of coal resources evaluation and coal mining environment protection policyanalysis, comprehensively evaluated environment status and its change trend of Luan nationalplanning mining area, to provide the scientific basis for achieved the reasonable planning, orderlydevelopment, efficient utilization, environment protection and regional economic and socialcoordinated development of whole Lu’an national planning mining area.
