According to the supporting practice of soft rock roadway, a new supporting design method of softrock roadway is proposed based on five mechanical conditions of the soft surrounding rock, whichconsists of supporting technology, pressure-releasing method and bearing capacity. In the design method,the surrounding rock is classified into three different types of it. The stability theory and criteria ofsurrounding rock of soft rock roadway under the load of disturbance is proposed. Elliptic-shapedroadway and support is designed, and several different types of pressure-releasing method in the softrock roadway is summerized and analyzed. Aimed to the conditions of soft rock roadway in No.3levelof South Lane in Young zhuang coal mine, the cross-section of roadway is elliptial, and the compositesupporting scheme is designed, based on the concrete filled steel tubular support.Two new checking methods and technical scheme of support reinforced in anti-bendingperformance are proposed. The two methods are checking method for lateral anti-bending performanceof support and checking method for rate of hardening of concrete, respectively.The numerical simulation method is used to analyze the stability of roadway of No.3level of SouthLane in Young zhuang coal mine. The scene test is also used to monitor the deformation of roadway andthe load of support. The industrial test proves that the stability of roadway is good.
