Based on a great deal of research at home and abroad research, the problems ofadsorption and desorption law in different coal rank for soft coal and hard coal areanalyzed.The parameters of pore structure, macromolecular structure, adsorptionconstants and desorptiondata of different ranks coal for hard and soft coal areresearched.The adsorption potential well are calculated by MP2methods of quantumchemistry.to explanate the mechanism of the adsorption of methane.Research onadsorption characteristics of different rank coal between different types of damagecoal,the control mechanism is identified.The model for coal adsorption of methane isfounded the Adsorption Potential Theory. The massive coal samples and efficientexperimental system for adsorption and desorption which have the emperature controlfunction are set up.The desorption law and the control mechanism by different rankcoal between different types of damage coal are researched.The value of the gascontent critical value for different ranks of coal is determined. The reliability of themethod to calculate the loss of gas content is analyzed.
