Tin,one of the five metals didn’t has consistent status from beginning to end in theChinese people ‘s social life. Tin became precious metal because it can greatly improvethe hardness and the castinproperties of the copper.So that people be leaded from thestone age to the bronze age. However, with the development of the society, thebronze had been gradually weakened in the people’s life, and the tin metal position hasweakened following it, on this point, the tin metal’s status is different from the goldand silver precious metals, it’s changing,to the Ming Dynasty, it has from preciousto meet different identity, different levels of people’s need. And because of the changeof it’s status,it has not obtained a lot of concern like dignified,generous, elegantbronze and bright gold silve, in some sense, we can say, Implicit plain tin in artobjects have not been concerned in history,and it’s also rarely be researched from thewhole and perspective of art and design.In this paper, the author combined the broad social background with the study ofhistorical development of Chinese tin products art,to explore the specific process of theformation of tin products from the art engendered by social economic basis,historicaltraditions and mature performance, and to understand its unique production andoperation mode,revealing its characteristic of it’s modeling and decoration,Carding therelationship between tin products and other arts and crafts category of similar anddifferent times,and then analyzes the ideological and cultural connotation of Chinesetin product,from many aspects, multi-dimensional,multi-angle study,in order toexplore the evolution of the law and the aesthetic features.From this process we can notonly knowing ancient people’s wide and deep living world, but also can understandingthe historical and cultural space, so as to let us further explore all sorts of designconsciousness that various tin metal design forms exhibited by the people at thattime, to explore the ancient people design consciousness will also have a certain enlightmental role of the today’s art design.At the same time,this paper also pays attention to the tin products’development inthe history and present situation of different areas in China,analyzed the Similaritiesand differences of tin products between different regions,and compared these productswith the foreign tin products. And it has The important practical significance for how toinherit and development Chinese tin products. At the same time it also plays asignificant role in promoting the tin product design art research and protection of thenon-material cultural heritage.
