During the last two decades, π-conjugated polymers have gained a great deal of academicandindustrial interest because of their potential as active materials in organic field-effecttransistors, organic light-emitting diodes, and organic photovoltaics, etc. The optoelectronicproperties of π-conjugated polymers can be tuned by introducing various sub-stituents, eitheronto the polymer backbone or as side groups. Conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) areπ-conjugated polymers. Since Shi and Wud reported the first conjugated polyelec-trolytes, anumber of studies on water-soluble conjugatedpolyelectrolytes and their applications havesubsequently been published. Water-soluble conjugated polyelectrolytes are rigid backbonesconsisting of an alternation of simple and dou-ble bonds with water-soluble side chainscontaining cationic oranionic groups. Electron delocalization facilitates rapid intrachainandinterchain exciton migration, conferring collective opticalresponses and amplified signals.Given their optical signal amplifi-cation effects, CPEs can be used to fabricate chemical andbiologicalsensors. In this paper, we develop two kinds of new water-soluble conjugated polyelectrolyte. They are water-soluble polythiophene derivatives poly[3-(1′-ethyoxy-2′-N-methylimidazole)thiophene](PEOIMT) and poly[3-(1′-propyloxy-3′-N,N,N-trimethylamino)thiophene](PPOTAT). Their molecular structures are charactered by1HNMR and IR, and their formulasare as follows:We investigate the potophysical and electrochemical properties of PEOIMT andPPOTAT by UV-vis absorption spectrum, fluorescence spectrum and cyclic voltammetry. Theresult indicate that the PEOIMTand PPOTAT belongto the organic semiconductor. In this paper, we study the dissolving ability of PEOIMT and PPOTAT in four different solvents, and found that water was a kind of good solvent for them. Their solvent-responsive,temperature-responsive and pH-responsive are investigated by UV-vis absorption spectrum. We also study the biological detections of in water solution by PEOIMT and PPOTATunder the conditions of different concentrations, different temperatures and different pH withthe help of UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectra. The result indicate that the PEOIMTand PPOTAT can interact with BSA and can be used as a biosensor to detect BSA.Aryl boric acid is a kind of important compound because of their excellent properties, such as good stability、low toxicity、long-term preservation and environmental-friendly. Inthis paper, we develop a new kind of aryl boric acid3(4,4’,4"-three boric acid-phenyl)amine(3BzN-3B). Its molecular structure is charactered by MS and IR,and its formula is asfollows. We study the thermal stability of the3BzN-3B by TG and DSC. The result indicate thatthe char yield of3BzN-3B achieve49.1%. It may be can be used as a flame retardant. In this paper, we add the3BzN-3B to the EP as a flame retardant, and study the relatedproperties of EP,such as the carbon residue rate、LOI、UL94and cone calorimeter test. SEManalyze the mechanism of the flame retardant in this system. The results show that3BzN-3Bcan improve the flame retardant properties of EP, the mechanism of3BzN-3B is condensedphase flame retardant.
