Life cycle assessment of environmental impact assessment in the manufacturing process and environmental management is a powerful tool, not only to assess the product’s entire life cycle involved in environmental issues, and more importantly, the thought of life cycle can provide a theoretical basis of sustainable development decision-making, and it also can promote products, companies and even entire industries behavior more in line with the principles of sustainable development. Although there are many researches on LCA, it hasn’t yet established a practical evaluation of basic data and evaluation models and methods appropriate to national conditions to be widely accepted.Heat treatment is an important basis process which is widely applied in machinery products manufacturing, it is necessary to give full play material potential, ensure that spare parts and product quality and life, and upgrading of key operational, all mechanical parts need to be different degrees of heat-treatment. However, heat treatment process consumes a lot of energy, materials and has emission seriously in air and water pollutants. Therefore, the implementation of energy conservation and clean production has great significance for China’s sustainable development.The main research results and innovation of this paper are:1. The LCA system methods are applied in the production environment behavior analysis of heat treatment process. The production resources, energy consumption and the state of the environment of heat treatment have been detailed analyzed. Boundary conditions of the production process and the target coordinate of the environment is proposed.The environmental emissions in the heat production environment load includes the resource consumption, energy consumption and evaluation indicators have been built.2. According to the domestic production of heat treatment,the paper proposes a comprehensive environmental index IREI relative environmental load, based on this basis, a comparable model which can quantify the cumulative environmental impact of the production of heat treatment is established.3. Presents quantitative heat treatment process throughout the whole production process of environmental load evaluation of mathematical models to calculate the coordination and BP neural network evaluation algorithm can calculate the environmental impact of each intermediate step, which provides the basis for improving the environmental impact of the heat treatment process.4. A prototype system of heat treatment process of LCA evalution is developed based on the model and algorithm. The basic database of heat treatment process on LCA is constructed, and the evaluation model is verified by the BP neural network which can prove the feasible practical and feasible practical.Based onresources, energy consumption and pollutant emissions of the salt bath quenching and vacuum quenching, a comparative analysis and evaluation were conducted. Tthe heat treatment process of green evaluation system of this study was validated. The results show that, the evaluation methods used in this paper can correctly, objectively evaluate and reflect the present situation of heat treatment technology.
