In view of poor support for surrounding rocks of roadway with high ground stressin deep mining, both theoretical and experimental studies based on energy theory werecarried out. Based on the Daanshan mine of Beijing Haohua CO., LTD., throughmonitoring infrared radiation of sandstone under uniaxial compression, the infraredradiation characteristics in the process of deformation and failure were obtained.Besides, combining with elasticity mechanics theory and energy support theory, therelationship between the energy released by excavated rock and elastic deformationenergy absorbed by support structures, and the relevant theoretical model were analyzedand obtained. Meanwhile, the FLAC3D is used to simulate roadway excavation underdifferent support conditions. The reasonable supporting method and parameters weresummarized. Lastly, a series of industrial tests applying high pre-stressed bolt andanchor cable were carried out in field application. Results showed that high pre-stressedbolt can not only have a good interaction with anchored rocks, but balance the energyreleased by surrounding rocks and the energy absorbed by support structures, so as toeffectively control the deformation of surrounding rocks.
