Theory Conctruction And Strategies Of City Recreation Planning

In this paper, we study leisure, recreation, open space, and development and evolutionand impact mechanism of urban recreation planning, using systematics, Post OccupancyEvaluation (POE)，combination of qualitative and quantitative, etc., and there is a summarizeof the material space characteristics of the city recreation system and the social spacecharacteristics based on the users;furthermore, emphasis is placed upon the necessity ofbringing urban recreation planning into the overall urban planning, and the spatial strategy ofestablishing urban recreation planning. This thesis preliminarily constructs the analyticalframework for urban recreation space system research, builds a theoretical system of the cityrecreation planning study, taking the case study of Shenzhen City to explore the city outdoorrecreation space planning methods, and provides a theoretical foundation and practicalexperience for the practical development of urban recreation system．This article contains the research content of the following areas:First of all, the research subjects-urban recreation planning is conceptually defined, theconcept of the modern recreation space is established, and the value of recreation space iselaborated, by reviewing the history development and origin of leisure, recreation, andrecreation space.Conclude the current urban recreation environment、recreation needs、recreation behaviour after a thorough investigation;Moreover, we use the POE researchmethods to investigate and analyze the users of Shenzhen recreation space and their activitycharacteristics; getaevaluation report after occupaied.Secondly, we carry out theory analysisrelated to urban recreation planning. By sortingboth Chinese and foreign urban recreation space theory research and their developmenthistory, we explore part of the theoretical basis of the city recreation system research. Apartfrom the traditional urban planning theory, ecology theory, and landscape architecture theory,this study apply the location space theory of geography,the public goods theory ofeconomics,managementtheoryand so forth to the investigation of the city recreation systemcreatively.Thirdly, there is exploration of the evolution model of urban recreation space system.The development of recreation space indicates that: urban recreation space system is theproduct of the cluster of both population and economic activities, and its occurrence anddevelopment process are closely linked to urban space expansion and spatial Transformationof human life. This thesis focuses on analysis of spatial process of development and themechanism of its formation of the city recreation system, and dividethe evolution of modern recreation space into five stages: recreation cemetery,park system,public open space,peri-urban recreation center, building attached recreation space,greenway; and seeks thecontext of the progressive development and evolution of the city recreation space systemalong with the urbanization process; and reflects the connections betweenthe city recreationspace and the space of city and region during their development and evolution.Last but not least, empirical study is taken on the outdoor recreation space planning ofthe city of Shenzhen. We analyze the structure and function of Shenzhen outdoor recreationspace system, and take feature analysis on the type structure, scale rating structure, spatialdistribution, and so on of Shenzhen outdoor recreation space systems respectively. We put theprincipleof recreation planning,summarize the content of recreation planning, and explore thecity’s outdoor recreation planning strategy. There is prospect of building urban recreationspace system.As a consequence, urban recreation system is a set of geographical space assembled witheconomic, social, and natural property collectively; and the urban recreation space isgenerated, developed and evolved accompanied with the urbanization process; andfurthermore, not only the integrity of the urban recreation space system the important basicconditions of good ecological environment in cities, but also the safeguards of the highquality public urban life. There is relativelystrong theoretical value and practical significanceof taking urban recreation planning into the overall urban planning, and of establishing urbanrecreation planning system,especiallythe urban recreationplanning could chang the ideas andthe way of development in the process of urbanization from quantity to quality.
