Artificial marked the sour jujube which the surface is difficult to detect, scatter in the wild where red fox haunt, then collect the feces of red fox, record the location of feces of red fox with marked, calculate the average distance of seed of sour jujube dispersal by red fox in the wild. The average distance is545m.(6) Analyze spatial pattern of adult trees, seedlings and the sour jujube seed rain generated by red fox in the Helan Mountains. Record the location of the feces of the red fox including jujube seed. Record the location of adult sour jujube trees. Record the location of seedling sour jujube. According to the data of location, use geographic information systems software to map. Analysing the GIS map, I think the red fox dispersal the sour jujube seed from edge of the Helan Mountains to the internal of small ditch of Helan Mountains. Red fox expand the area of the sour jujube forest.There are resources patches of woods of sour jujube in Helan Mountains The red fox connect the patches of Ziziphus jujube populations and enhance gene exchange. This is ecological function of red fox.
