Responses of wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) to neighboring plants in biomass and chemistry play many important roles in the competition between plants. Study of these responses of a plant is of great importance in realize its competition strategy. In this study, we investigated the biomass and chemistry responses of wheat to neighboring plants (intraspecific、interspecific and community level) in the condition of root segregation and contact and how the wheat interfere the neighboring plants, we also studied how the density of neighboring plants influenced the responses of wheat. The result showed that:(1) Among105neighboring species,39species can induce the DIMBOA concentration in wheat tissue significantly than the CK. Simultaneously, DIMBOA concentration in wheat root response more intense than in shoot so have a wider range. More plant species of the family Legume and Cruciferae can induce the DIMBOA content in wheat than the family of Poaceae and Compositae. More weed species can induce the DIMBOA content in wheat than crop spesies.(2) When the density of the neighboring plants is8, DIMBOA concentration will be induced by33from71species that can’t induce wheat DIMBOA significantly in the condition of5:5. We get the similar result in the experiment of community, High density stronger induction capacity.(3) In the condition of root segregated by30μm nylon mesh, there is no apparent trend in wheat biomass growing with heterospecific neighbors. While in the condition of root contact, wheat trends to increase the biomass.(4) When two or five different species grow with wheat at the same time as the neighbor, there isn’t obvious synergistic effect nor antagonistic effect of these species to influence the DIMBOA concentration in wheat, it seems like the wheat in response to the addition of the induce capacity of each single species. There is no significant response in wheat biomass in this experiment too.(5) In the experiment of different proportion of wheat wild oat co-existing, wheat DIMBOA concentration and biomass similar to the results in chapter1and2. And the biomass of wild oat is inhibited by wheat when the wheat take a high proportion. Wheat will take advantage in the co-existing system with wild oat in seeding stage.(6) Chemical response of Jing411to different wheat varieties in the proportion5:5is not significant. When Jing411grow together with different wheat varieties, it tends to decrease the tissue biomass, but only co-planting with shijiazhuang407, the biomass of jing411decreas significantly.
