The dry roots of Follopia multiflora(Thunb.)Harald. are commonly used as polygoni multiflori radix, is recorded in the 《Chinese Pharmacopoeia》 Part I (2010edition). The root of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.(PM) has been used in two forms in traditional Chinese medicinerdirect dried called the root of PM (Heshouwu in Chinese) and Proeessed with steaming method called the Proeessed root of PM(Zhi-heshouwu in Chinese). The root of PM has been used as detoxieation and Purgation;and the Proeessed one has been used as tonieity and nutrition. The Pharmaeologieal studies have also shown that these two Preparations have different activities.Polygonummultiflorum Thunb. is widely distributed throughout the country, formerly drug source are mainly from wild resources. with the increase of Polygonum multiflorum efforts to develop, Polygonum depleting wildlife resources in recent years, the contradiction between supply and demand has become increasingly acute. although Guizhou, Guangdong and other artificial cultivation, but has not yet formed the scale. Therefore, in order to meet the growing market demand, there is an urgent need to carry out planting technology and scale planted to ensure the yield and quality of polygoni multiflori radix. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provides advanced means to study on the region division of Chinese medicine in adaptive production area in ChinaThe main objective of this thesis is to study the quality evaluation of different growth pattern and the different areas of the Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.. Meanwhile, in order to ensure the quality of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. cultivar, the paper integrated the ecological environment (climate, soil, etc.) and socio-economic conditions affecting the quality of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb, to carry out the regional division of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. by using GIS, The main results are as following:1The study of quality evaluation of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.1.1Determination of2,3,5,4’-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-o-β-D-glucopyranoside and anthraquinon simultaneously in Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.HPLC method was used to simultaneously determine the contents of2,3,5,4’-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-o-β-D-glucopyranoside and anthraquinones in Polygonummultiflorum Thunb. Cluster analysis of the effective components was carried out by using SPSS. The result shows that there was no significant correlation between the contents of stilbene glucoside and anthraquinones in Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. the content of stilbene glycosides and anthraquinone ingredients vary greatly, the stilbene glucoside of wild samples were significantly higher than cultivated products. and outside Deqing production Polygonum, the stilbene glycosides level of cultivars were less than the wild products. there were no significant differences of anthraquinone ingredients between wild and cultivated samples.1.2HPLC fingerprint and chemical pattern recognition of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.An high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed to establish fingerprint of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. and22samples of wild and cultivated from various places had been analyzed. Cluster analysis and principal component analysis(PCA) were applied to study HPLC fingerprint. The results show that the cluster analysis and principal component analysis is basically the same, Polygonum multiflorum sample will be divided into five categories, class Ⅰ include SO and S9, the reference drug and Deqing sample, indicate that the closest of deqing of Polygonum multiflorum herbs with the reference drug quality;Class Ⅱ include S1, Sichuan emeishan sample;class Ⅲ include S7and S14, Shanxi, Guangdong sample, the stilbene glycoside content of this class is high, but the combined anthraquinone content is low;Class Ⅳ include S2, S3, S4, S5, both stilbene glucoside and combined anthraquinone content are relatively high. Other origin samples normalized as a class, this class are cultivated, both stilbene glucoside and combined anthraquinone content are relatively low.The quality evaluation showed that chemical composition are basically the same in different growth pattern and different areas samples, but there is differences in content of active ingredients, it may be due to climate, soil and other natural environments and the excavation period, leaving the growth years.2Study on the ecological suitability of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb.2.1Quantitative study on the ecological suitability of of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. based on GIS.The quality of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. is closely related to its producing region. the research built directly into the evaluation modelto evaluate the ecological suitability comprehensively with the help of the geographic information system.To select the ecological factors playing a key role in growth and development of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb., To determine the optimal range of values of ecological factors from statistical results, To determine the weight of each ecological factors using AHP. The article analyse ecological suitability of the Polygonum mult iflorumThunb. based on the climate database, soil database, ArcGIS9.3software platform. The ecological suitability analysis results show that Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. have a wide range of ecological suitability, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian and other provinces, and the suitable area are large in Yunfu, Gaozhou,Yunan in Guangdong.Results of this study indicate that Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. have broader ecological suitability, while the quality evaluation results also indicate that chemical composition of different areas samples basically the same, although there are differences in the content of active ingredients, but overall a good similarity degree.it indicate not only Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. have broad ecological adaptability as plants but also has a wide range of suitable distribution as Chinese medicine.2.2Study on the ecological suitability of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. based on GIS and ecological niche model.The article use the combination of geographic information systems and niche model (Garp, Maxent, Bioclim, Domain) method to evaluate the ecological suitability of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb., the area under ROC curve (AUC) and Kappa values to validate the result. The results show that four models can be used to predict the ecological suitable distribution, four results include feasibility map, and all can be used to intuitively judgment the ecological suitable distribution, the predicted results can coincide with the actual distribution. The Maxent prediction is best easy to use and have fast running speed, followed by the Domain model.The results showed that the optimum growth area of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. are mainly in Shanxi, Gansu, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, etc.The combination of geographic information systems and niche model are easy to use, have fast running speed, more objective analysis results,and the predicted results were evaluated, It can be introduced into the study of suitability analysis of Chinese herbal medicines.3Study on the regional division of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. in plantation area in China.The paper integrated ecological environment (climate, soil, etc.) and socio-economic conditions affecting the quality of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. to carry out the regional division of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. by using GIS. The results show that Guangdong will be divided into three levels: the most suitable, less suitable, low suitable. The most suitable areas include Guangning, Deqing, Fengkai, Yunan, Huaiji, Yangchun, Gaozhou, Xinyi, Lianjiang, and so on, There have large suitable area and have good quality recorded in ancient literature,This areas are suitable for carrying out scale cultivation; the less suitable areas include Heping, Dapu, Heyuan, Pingyuan, Meizhou, and so on; The low suitable areas include the Pearl River Dalta region, this region have developed economy and is not suitable to carry out planting.
