Clinical Study On Cupping Combined With Acupoint Magnet Plastening Therapy For Yongsters Simple Obesity

Objective:To observe the effect on the weight, Body Mass Index and body fat percentage with Cupping combined with Acupoint Magnet Plastening Therapy in youngsters simple Obesity by prospective randomized controlled trial(RCT),evaluating generally the clinical effect of the treatment above, to provide the evidence for the treatment on simple Obesity in youngsters.Methods:This research is on the randomized controlled trials.60 qualified p atients were divided into treatment group and the control group randomly, with 30 cases respectively. The patients of the treatment group were acce pted the Cupping therapy and Acupoint Magnet Plastening Therapy everyday (6 days a course of treatment,4 course totally) while the patients of th-e control group were accepted the pediatric message treatment every day (same as the treatment group). Through obversing the change of the weigh t, Body Mass Index and body fat percentage before and after 4 treatment course, we try to find out which it is effective to cure the Obesity or not.Results:1. Before the treatment, there was not different statistically (P>0.05) between the treatment group and the control group in terms of age, height, gender, course of disease, as well as the weight, Body Mass Index and body fat percentage. The two groups are no difference at the baseline statistically.2. Data before and after treatment:After 4 course treatment, the weight, Body Mass Index and body fat percentage were improved after the treatment in the each group, which is different statistically when compared with the data before the treatment (P<0.05). It illustrated that two kinds of therapy are all effective to cure the Childhood Obesity.3. The data about the Obesity was compared between the two groups.①the weight:After treatment, the decrease of the weight between the two groups is different statistically(P<0.05).The treatment group excel in the control group. ② the Body Mass Index:After treatment, the decrease of the BMI between the two groups is different statistically (P<0.05). The treatment group excel in the control group. ③ the body fat percentage:After treatment, the decrease of the body fat percentage between the two groups is different statistically (P<0.05). The treatment group excel in the control group.4. After the 4 treatment course, there is 36.7% cured rate,76.7% significant improved rate,90% total effective rate in the treatment group. It means 11 cases cured,12 cases significant improved,4 cases improved,3 case no effect. And in the control group there is 16.7% cured rate,50% significant improved rate,86.7% total effective rate. It means 5 cases cured, 10 cases significant improved,12 cases improved,3 case no effect. There is statistical difference between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05).5. There is no side effect and 100% compliance between the two groups.Conclusion:1. Cupping therapy combined with the Acupoint Magnet Plastening Therapy is superior to the pediatric message in the aspect of improving the weight, Body Mass Index and body fat percentage, which is effective and no side-effect.2. Cupping therapy combined with the Acupoint could avoid the pain and the psychological conflict of the patient, because it is easy to operate and no-invasive, that is recommended in the clinical work.
