| Part I Comparison of the preparation of K3, TF and K3XF Nickel-Titanium rotary instruments in simulated resin canalsObjective:To investigate the shaping effects of three nickel-titanium rotary instruments TF, K3XF and K3in simulated resin canals. Methods:Forty five simulated resin canals were divided into three groups(n=15) and prepared with TF, K3XF and K3, respectively. Pre-and postoperative images were superimposed. Differences in canal curvature modification and incidence of canal aberration were analyzed. Results:TF and K3XF demonstrated significantly less modification of curvature and canal aberrations than K3(P<0.05)Conclusion:Under the conditions of this study, the TF and K3XF system seems to be a better choice than K3system in preparing simulated root canals. Part â…¡ Comparison of the preparation of K3, TF and K3XF Nickel-Titanium rotary instruments in double curved resin canalsObjective:To investigate the shaping effects of three nickel-titanium rotary instruments TF, K3XF and K3in extreme curved resin canals. Methods:Forty five S shaped resin canals were divided into three groups(n=15) and prepared with TF, K3XF and K3, respectively. Pre-and postoperative images were superimposed. Differences in canal curvature modification and incidence of canal aberration were analyzed. The preparation time and incidence of procedural errors were recorded. Results:K3XF demonstrated significantly less modification of curvature and canal aberrations than TF and K3groups (P<0.05). The most canal transportation was produced by K3. The shortest preparation time was registered with TF (526seconds).Conclusion:Under the conditions of this study, the least canal transportation was produced by K3XF system. TF prepared the canals faster than the other two systems. K3seems to be a bad choice in preparing extreme curved resin canals. |
