Since the1980’s, Tang self-recommended poems started to gain more academic attention.Academic thumbs and young students involved in it one after another, with achievementsemerging. This develops to a characteristic research direction in classical Chinese literature.Investigating the established observation,I find the achievements of study onthe image construction of self-recommended poems are fewer. It’s a pity for literary workswhich highlight interpersonal function and reflect mental condition prominently. On the otherhand, differences on the definition of self-recommended poems lead to that judgment standardis not unified,as same poem with different research findings, or some people think that’s aself-recommended poem. To a certain extent, this influence the rigor about the studyconclusion of self-recommended poems. So investigating all elements of self-recommendedprocess,the author put forward the concept of self-recommended poems, which includes fiveclass: Ganye poetry、Shengye poetry、Songye poetry、Xingye poetry、Daye poetry. On thebasis of it,this paper establishes the study sample of self-recommended poems and investigatescholar self-recommended image the poems model. The study found, as Tang Dynasty developed from prosperous to weak, the image ofself-recommended scholars gradually became complicated and negative, and it finally evolvedinto an image of ganging up for selfish interests or being tufthunting. At this point, theself-recommended poems seemed to become revolutionary, which turned into the tool ofmobilizing people that revolt against the ruling class with its philistine face. Theself-recommended scholars were close to the power center of ruling class with towards itsopposite gradually. If Songye poetry had promoted the formation of self-recommended scholars’ grouppsychology, so Shengye poetry could be considered as a personal awareness which wasdifferent from the former. It was just the awareness that made the Shengye poetry of TangDynasty become realistic critical. Till late-Tang, the discontent and indignation in Shengyepoetry gradually evolved into a social emotion of the whole scholar class, and it turned into a causation of social disruption. The study found, under the oppression of authoritarian system, scholars who seek forofficial career turned up multifaceted personalities. They not only wanted to show their talentsand go down in history、plead for the people and theorized for the country, but also prefer edcling to the powerful and being haughty. They were the combination of noble and filthy.Under the right conditions, these multifaceted person could move towards the opposite ofroyal court. This phenomenon was found by some scholars and record as follow, that is“though benefited by the emperor’s kindness for generations, still became rebels from primeminister to the officials. The study found, there was an endless silence for the majority of poets after they presenttheir poetry. The resentment of Libai caused not only by the disappointment on the restrictionof his aspiration, but also by the bitter when he was left on the sidelines. This desolation ofLibai was linked closely with the endless silence after presenting poetry. The study found that, the poetry of Libai had a high-level in artistic appeal and aesthetic interest. So why would hestill been left on the sidelines and could not succeed in self-recommended?The answer is“spread of the Xuanzong Irony” which was aroused by the failure of Hanlin Academicianproved to be the high wall that Libai didn’t stride across throughout his life. The study found, the model of self-recommended image is self-recommended scholarsrecognize ideological domination of Tang Dynasty rulers. Communication performance inself-recommended activities caters to officialdom hidden rules at that time. This “two–facedculture” immerse the core of ancient cultures deeply, and the phantom appears occasionally inthe long feudal society. Finally, the self-recommended relationship of th“eforming a clique forself-interests”becomes the root of “Niu-Li Factional Struggles” in the late Tang Dynasty.
