This article is about the Prussian School of History (Kleindeutsch-preuβischen Schule). It focuses on the cause by which the school appeared and its historiography by concentrating Johann Gustav Droysen, Heinrich von Sybel and Heinrich von Treitschke. The Prussian School of History was formed behind it to criticize the "history-politics" idea in19th century. The school inherited the historicism, and developed it to an idea that history is objective, integral, continual. Meanwhile, the school thought the aim of German history was the unite of the state, so reconstructed the history of the nation to prove the nation has a united nation spirit and a clear concept about the state, and to support reform not revolution as the way of social development. The Prussian School of History intergrated history with politics, and emphasized the practice and the reality. This idea came from the historicism, and became mature in the social and political reality of Germany in19th century. The school not only tried to answer the social and political problems at that time, also wanted to develop the theories of history itself, and to search the meaning for history.
