The Research On The Adverbs Of The Bamboo And Silk Literature

All researches involved in the ancient literature, their research value often depends on the value of materials. When we study the ancient literature, the first thing to do is to choose the research materials. We should choose those materials that can objectively reflect the age appearance of the literature as the research object. The unearthed literature was chosen as research materials, because compared with the literature handed down from ancient times, they had the advantages which the latter do not have. The masterpieces of literature have been inevitably distorted by copying repeatedly, collation and publication in the spreading process. The unearthed literature has been buried in underground for a very long time and has not been spread. So they could retain the feature of language at that time and had precious value of language material, which was the greatest advantage of unearthed literature. There were many literature available for us to study language during the period of Warring States and Qin-Han, but undoubtedly they were different from the real language facts at that time. While the unearthed documents just made up for this deficiency, which was the main reason that we chose bamboo slips and silk materials to do adverb study.In the syntax structures, adverb often refers to those words that can only serve as a modifying component and never serve as a modified component. They are very important and have the most members in Chinese function words. The use frequency of adverbs is very high and the use is also more complicated, so the system research and arrangement of the bamboo and silk adverbs will be able to promote the research of the bamboo and silk function words. This has important reference value to explore the development history of the bamboo and silk function words and the whole history of Chinese.This paper consisted of ten chapters. The first chapter was "introduction", which briefly introduced the bamboo and silk materials related to the research and summarized the research significance and methods of this paper and the research status of bamboo and silk adverbs. Then it introduced the definition, characteristics and functions of adverbs. According to the criterion of meaning, they were divided into8categories, which were scope adverbs, time adverb, degree adverb, frequency adverbs, negative adverbs, modal adverbs, association adverbs, and mood adverbs. Then the basic features of composition about each kind of adverbs were briefly described. The main part of the paper was from the second chapter to the ninth chapter, which respectively studied each category of adverbs including the frequency of each adverb used in the bamboo and silk literature, and had the more detailed and in-depth description from the two main aspects of the grammatical function and meaning. In addition, there were the summary of the use at the end of every small class of adverbs. The tenth chapter discusses some value on Adverbs of the bamboo and silks to the study of ancient Chinese function words.Finally, there were "the summary table of adverbs of the bamboo and silk" and "the grammatical function table of adverbs of the bamboo and silk".
